Thanks I had hit enter but not from the main map area, thinking it was under one of the tabs like the old camp menus.
You use the "show on map" feature when you go into the encyclopedia, N by default, you go to the city or village in question and you hit the track button that's on the left side of the screen under the name of the settlement.
It will highlight the settlement on the world map when you exit the encyclopedia and when you click the city name, it will zoom to it's location.
Alternatively, if the settlement name is highlighted in the quest log or the speech text. You can left click the name to open the encyclopedia, and then follow the same steps above.
You didnt find crap. city got attacked no log... i press enter, its all an empty transparent square. lol
But, that won't show things like combat and loot logs, like how much money you just looted, and some special messages. Those don't get recorded anywhere that I know of. Though, some will likely be added to that message log.
Early Access... :)
Warband had the same design issue, too. Warband had two message logs with many messages being redundant and some only appearing in one. Stoopid? Yes. :)
They're mucking about with certain message types and one assumes that they'll eventually be added to the general Chat log. Certain notices specific to the player, for instance, don't seem to be recorded in Chat. I do strongly agree that all notices/messages should be in that log.
I agree completely.
The current window is too much like a "chat" window. i get it... I guess. But, for single-player that isn't concerned so much with seeing what's behind such a window, like a multiplayer would, a seperate, full, log would be very nice.
Otherwise, how are we supposed to be "engaged" with what's going on in the world? How are we supposed to know what other factions are doing and which King just got captured by Looters if we don't have a nice, easy, way to see that recorded info? :)
