Way to open the "message log"?
I haven't found a way to open the screen where you see all the messages of what's happening around Calradia, the same way as you could do in Warband.

Currently that and the "show on map" feature is missing, or i'm just not seeing them.

Thanks I had hit enter but not from the main map area, thinking it was under one of the tabs like the old camp menus.

You use the "show on map" feature when you go into the encyclopedia, N by default, you go to the city or village in question and you hit the track button that's on the left side of the screen under the name of the settlement.

It will highlight the settlement on the world map when you exit the encyclopedia and when you click the city name, it will zoom to it's location.

Alternatively, if the settlement name is highlighted in the quest log or the speech text. You can left click the name to open the encyclopedia, and then follow the same steps above.

It depends on if you have entered a battle or not. Going in to battles deletes the log for some stupid reason. It might do it at any time a player goes in to an area but I haven't checked. I'm sure you can figure out when the log is available and when it isn't.

Pressing Enter opens the Chat window which will show "Notices" that the game generates.

But, that won't show things like combat and loot logs, like how much money you just looted, and some special messages. Those don't get recorded anywhere that I know of. Though, some will likely be added to that message log.

The lack of the full game log is a shame, really.

Early Access... :)

Warband had the same design issue, too. Warband had two message logs with many messages being redundant and some only appearing in one. Stoopid? Yes. :)

They're mucking about with certain message types and one assumes that they'll eventually be added to the general Chat log. Certain notices specific to the player, for instance, don't seem to be recorded in Chat. I do strongly agree that all notices/messages should be in that log.

I would really just like it if a complete log without battle messages was in the game in a menu like in warband where it looked like a piece of parchment. It was a nice design and kinda felt like a squire or bard were recording the important stuff.

I agree completely.

The current window is too much like a "chat" window. i get it... I guess. But, for single-player that isn't concerned so much with seeing what's behind such a window, like a multiplayer would, a seperate, full, log would be very nice.

Otherwise, how are we supposed to be "engaged" with what's going on in the world? How are we supposed to know what other factions are doing and which King just got captured by Looters if we don't have a nice, easy, way to see that recorded info? :)

My hero. Thx a bunch. Never been too interested in all these messages, but once you've chosen sides... it's different. Suddenly the name of your side popped up plus a dozen other events and then you want to - and need to - know and thus read what's going on on the map. And there's not a single hint anywhere in the keybinds or game tips, that ENTER on the campaign map brings back all the messages... Shame on them! And blessed be you.
