Failure to Launch - "Access is Denied. (0x5)"

Anyone else seeing this error ?

"Failure to start process for Mount and Blade Bannerlord."

"Access is denied. (0x5)"

I have tried:
Verifying game cache
Uninstall and reinstall of full game
Reinstall of VC Redistributable
Reinstall of Net 4.8 Framework
Restarting computer - After every step taken above


Any other ideas ?

Are you given steam, and mount and blade administrator access?

That worked! I had to run the launcher exe as admin. Never had this issue with steam before, will see how I can update steam to get around it, thanks!

Hi there, I wish to just ask, I'm having the same problem now and I have no idea how to fix it, can you tell me what you did to fixed yours? Like you said run it as "Admin" how do you exactly do that?

close steam out, right click on the desktop steam icon you use to launch steam, go to properties, go to the compatibility tab in the menu, check the 'run this program as an administrator' box, click apply

Hi, I have tried that and when I clicked/launch mount and blade, it still doesn't work.

I am also having this issue.

How do I run M&B as an administrator?
I have applied the run as admin to steam, but that hasn't allowed me to run it.
