Can I export my main character?
I spent a while on the character creator and I want to start a new campaign, with the same character. Can I export my character?

Actually, if youre in the creator, you can press CTRL C and it will copy your characters information, pressing CTRL V on another character will allow you to use the same character

Thanks but, what if I already created my character?
Go onto the campaign map and press V, CTRL C, then when you start a new character on the new save, where you edit your guy, press ctrl v

Looking for the same thing. Haven't found a way, nor did I spot a character file anywhere.

Too bad. I hope they enable this option soon. Having a blast so far.

so i've been messing with this since the game came out and have come to the conclusion that because of the way they have done skill points this time your characters are no longer saved in a separate folder or even in a XML file like the MPCharacters XML they are how ever stored in your save game files only problem is save games are a .sav extension and i havent really messed with .sav files and have no idea what program to use to open them. only reason i know that is where your characters stats and levels are located is because opening the file in Microsoft Visual Studio or notepad shows some of your character information like "MainHeroLevel":"2","MainPartyFood":"55.3","MainHeroGold":"1000","ClanInfluence":"0","ClanFiefs":"0","MainPartyHealthyMemberCount":"15","MainPartyPrisonerMemberCount":"0","MainPartyWoundedMemberCount":"0", etc. so to make long story short there currently is no way to import or export characters (at least none that ive seen or found and i have been through everything) but if i learn how to open .sav extensions fully ill figure out if its possible to copy and replace your characters face key to a new save as a more complicated work around till they add Import an exporting of characters.

I think someone will make a tool for save editing at some point, be it you or someone else. This is a shame really, I do hope they add it because it's an integral part of the game I feel like.

Well i have found something if you like editing your characters stats. Go to your bannerlord folder then navigate to Modules/SandBox/ModuleData locate the XML named Lords and your character is listed as "main_hero" so the first one. enjoy making 999 stat man just dont set your agility over 100 youll break everything lol

Dude, thanks.

I usually cheat a bit because I'm not a huge fan of the beginning grind of hunting down looters and recruiting peasants for hours (I've done that so much on Warband). I usually set myself up with a bit of a head start to get to the meat of the game, where my warband can actually compete with those of other lords.

I also don't find it realistic that spearing a guy in the face with a charging horse doesn't kill him in one hit.

Do you know if there is a way to edit your gold?

you could use cheat engine or open your save game file in notepad and edit the "MainHeroGold":"1000" but im still testing so cheat engine would probably be the safest way to togo so you dont corrupt your save game with your character on it

Cheatengine doesn't seem to pick up the values, sadly. I tried to edit the gold on a save and it caused a crash...erased the save and loaded a backup, and that saved the match.

Changing mainhero on the lords notepad seems to do nothing for me...

So it doesn't work, its not just me. Thats a relief.

Don't worry mate, we know that this is all experimental, the game just released today.

Can you tell me exactly what values you use in cheatengine? I still can't get it to work. I search for my amount of coin (195) and the engine doesn't pick up anything. I put exact value and value type, 4bits. Any help would be appreciated.

so to get exact values in cheat engine enter your current amount of gold then do first scan go back to your game an sell or buy something then type in how ever much gold you have now and do next scan repeat until your left with as little amount of index numbers and which ever one or ones is left change the values of each one one at a time until you see your ingame gold change close cheat engine it might still crash but once you load the save it will be fine

Because its not your character. Look at the values and if they don't match up to your character in-game, its not your Character
