Train Troops Quest
I am supposed to train 10 troops for a guy in a village. He gave me 10 little weak guys to train. So far I have trained 9 of them into veterans and only have one left. However my quest log says I only have 6/10. Am I missing something or is this bugged? Also I am curious what happens if a single guy dies during this quest.

OP, that quest log simply doesn't update very quickly. If you have nine veterans and one recruit, then you are almost done with the quest.

You likely know this by now, but the quest automatically completes itself, and those troops go home on their own. All the player has to do is keep too many of them from getting killed.

Despite what the village elder tells you, hunting looters isn't likely to get them leveled up before the timer runs out. In big fights, those borrowed troops tend to get themselves killed. You could always put them into their own unit and move them away from the battle?

There are also the "bring me x type of y troop type" quests in this game. The one I took sucked because you need one specific type of unit, that can only be found in Imperial villages (and it's just random chance if they have any or not).

Your quest may be bugged. The quest requires you to successfully train at least half the guys, so if one dies you should be fine.

I just avoid taking that quest. I always fail it. It needs some work,

Good to know thanks guys. I guess I wont take that quest anymore when I see it for now.

You can try just dumping the 1 untrained guy into the wild and see if he is happy with the 9 you did train. As long as you have even 1 untrained the quest will not complete and if the time runs out you fail it.. but if you dismiss the 1 dude its like "GOOD JOB! You are done now!"

In Warband, at least in mods that implemented this quest, the player never needed to train the exact units that were given, only supply the correct number and type of units the NPC requested.

I do recall a mission in vanilla (native, could have been a special mission in Floris?) that didn't obey that rule I think. But, modders realized that requiring the player to train the exact units given was... stoopid. It's war. People die despite the best efforts of those around them.

In Bannerlord, the mistakes of the past don't need to be repeated just so we can have a "Warband II."

"Train or supply 10 unit_x, here are some recruits."

Done.

Anything that requires the "exact" units given of a standard base-type that can be rolled into existing formations is unsmart.

Turns out after FINALLY training the very last guy the quest finished. The quest tracker must have been bugged on what it was displaying. Although Im sure this quest still bugs out for other people obviously.

Yeah, these quests are a pain because the experienced troops always chew into the XP gained in battle.

It looks bugged, tried myself today

It bugs if you reload the game, it stops counting.

Tried this quest once, it failed even though I trainted 6/10 of them before the time ran out.

Would prefer the Warband version of this quest, where I hang out in the village, beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of a few villagers...and then at the end there is a bandit raid and get to beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of them too.

The wasn't my experience.

I failed that quest the day the game released.

The clock ran out. I had most of them trained. One or two died.

Horrible quest.

For what I've seen the quest bugs when you patch or log out of the game.
I got stuck at 5/10 ... after a patch to version 1.0.6

i actually did that before, and it works, the quest giver says he understands that a couple are lost to fighting, i think at worst if half survived to level up then it can be completed
