Help please
I cant get past the rookie trainer in the tutorial, i havent played mount and blade before or any sword combat game other than skyrim and i just cant get past this guy, everytime he hits my block he doesnt get a penalty for me to counter attack, he just keeps hitting till i eventually give up, shield bashing doesnt help either, the guy backs off for 1 second and then he's straight back to his sword bashing spree

i agree they are very quick hitting, the veteran with the 2 hander sword is damn near impossible with the spear and shield to kill. the only cheap ass tactic i found that let me beat them was to strafe in a circle around them on the blind side ( attacking their sword hand, not the shied hand ) and they can't seem to block or manuever fast enough to block my attacks. so just trying walking in a tight circle around them constantly attacking after you block their first attck and usually you'll score a hit, even if it seems like youd miss

Yup thank you, i was able to finish the course using your trick and it was actually easier than doing the actual tutorial, thank you very much
You better skip the tutorial except for the missile and cavalry practice.

Best way to learn the game is play it. Either little by little on the arena and campaign or fire up a custom battle.
