Training Companions
Whats the best way to level them up? I want to be able to make some parties and have them be competent so I need to level up trading and leadership. Do I need them to be in my party to level up and is there a way to focus on those skills? THANKS!!!

So they just level it up and when they are on their own? Do they buy their own stuff as well i.e their gear?

i would gear them first, i didnt gear one of my guys and hes running around looking like a peasant with a big army, but weapon skills scouting ect all level up on their own with a their party, it is slow though

no worries man , its up to you, id do some tournaments and gear and keep your companions until you have a few caravans and workshops. once your a vassal or in a kingdom then put them in their own party so you can use them. otherwise they will just run around killing looters

if they get captured, once they are free go back into your party screen and put them back into one, you dont actually have to physically find them again

should i keep someone with high scouting, eng and tactics as well? Does having a companion whos doing something else and having them as a role, negate the role?

If your companion is in a role it will overtake the players stats as well potentially reducing any positives.

For example if the leader (yourself) has no role and no one in your party has a role you take on all trades and level up everything.

If your companion has surgeon role you wont level up healing as quickly as thats your companions role now.

Just a note I have not figured out how the hell companions level trading and they do not upgrade their skills properly if you dont have them in your own party. (they never select upgrade perks).

Im not 100% sure on levelling companions, ive noticed my companions are levelling skills on their own including healing, given what wintar said id only give them a role if you dont want that role example - i gave myself a surgeon as i didnt want to put points in healing

Ive used my other companions as caravans and parties
