i mean its just a guess but if its just renaming it might not need to be up to date (careful with that), i know that from Payday 2 cause i got 60 mods there lmao. if a mod has really small impact updates wont break it usually. however i dont know how bannerlord handles that

Step by step:
1) Go to the game files -> "Modules" -> "Sandbox"->"ModuleData"->"Languages"
2) Select the folder with the short name of the language you are playing in (I choose "ru" - Russian)
3) Open "std_settlements_xml_rus.xml" using notepad or another application that allows you to edit the text inside the file
4) Scroll down to the familiar names of the original version and change them without erasing the code written before, saving all the digressions and, in general, the entire composition of the code
5) Save, exit and check

"If you are playing in English, then the file "std_settlements_xml_.xml" is located in the "ModuleData" folder one step earlier.
*When updating the game, you will have to repeat the procedure
*In the same way, if desired, you can change almost all the vanilla names that you find

Woo thread necro!

If you're going to do this, a couple of extra steps I recommend:

Before "1" - make a copy of the original file and save it somewhere else. If you mess something up (or just want to go back to vanilla), you can quickly revert.

After "5" - make a copy of your modified file and save it somewhere else. In the event you update your game or need to repair/reinstall, you can quickly replace the file again without having to manually edit the file.

Updating the game may mean your file version no longer works which will require you to redo all the steps. If you're staying on the same version, keep backups of anything you modify.

You should not have to tell people this, just like you should not have to tell people not to set themselves on fire.
