Workshops and village resources
So I've been reading about how to determine the best workshops to build in cities and it seems that it all depends on the resources that the local villages produce. This makes sense why would you build a blacksmith in a town with now iron mines or a winery with no vinyards.

This does seem to work but one thing im unclear on is if the profit of the work shop directly correlates to the number of resources available, for example my most profitable workshop is a brewery in zeonica making 330 or so denars each day. Zeonica also has two towns that produce grain.

So does this mean more villages of the same resource gives you more profit? I might think that but my potter workshop in pen cannoc which has three clay villages pays out the least at 50 denars per day, so does anyone know anything about this?

I find it to be the opposite usually, places with villages that produce resources tend to have those resources and the goods produced from them for super cheap so its actually better to find a resource that is heavily traded there and make a workshop for that. For instance, one of my favorite workshop locations is a pottery in Poros, it makes TONS of money, easily between 400-700 provided war doesn't interrupt the chain of supply, and it has no clay villages anywhere around it.

i can't figure out workshops either. and i think most guides are wrong, or perhaps something is broken.

as a test, bought a workshop in poros, set it to silversmith. no silver mine anywhere. silver not even found in the town or anywhere in that entire region. poros workshop currently producing 285g per day.

meanwhile, pick a place where theres a ton of cotton for a tailor? 25g per day. i dont even.

I hope we`ll be able to manage our workshops... As at the moment it`s all in some kind of the guess work...

If thats true then why am I making so much money off of zeonica with a brewery where there is grain sources?

What i'm wondering, do villages bound to castles have set resource points to the cities since you can't buy workshops in castles, do their village resources so like sestadeim castle has two villages, one a silver mine and one sheep, would those go to the nearest city such as lycaron or amitatys if they're owned by the same faction?

I haven't seen anything definitive but I've seen people speculate that is the case.

This feature is incomplete. Workshjops are gonna be levelable for instance.
