Dragon Banner Choice (SPOILERS)
SPOILER ARERT

DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DO NOT WANT PLOT ELEMENTS GIVEN UP

So I finally got around to scouring the damn kingdom to talk to the 10 lords and I am trying to decide if I should side with Arzagos or Istiana. I am trying to find context, seems so far Arzagos wants to burn it down because his culture was eradicated and I am wondering if either choice makes the game harder. I currently am a vassal of the empire and have a castle so I am curious to know if I break that off, do I keep my castle or need to grab another?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies. Happy hunting out there.

You will keep your castle, but beware hte consequences.

Also the Quest is currently unfinished. So theres limited things happening from then on out for now.

So assuming my current lord will be none too happy. Does one choice handicap or make it a bit rougher for you versus the other?

It's pretty symmetric, not really a choice or a different story. Only difference is at the beginning when you need to control some city/castle to build your kingdom/empire, if you choose to claim as the true emperor you need to fight any of the 3 empires for their land that has empirical culture, and you need to fight the other 4 kingdoms for their land that are not with empire culture if you choose the other side.
