Civilian outfit annoyance...
The only thing that bothers me about the game is that I need to buy extra gear for the civilian clothes....
Why... when I select civilian outfit can't I select from the stuff I already have equipped in the battle outfit???
I mean if I put on my civilian outfit where does my battle outfit go?
Basically have to buy the same gear twice if I wish to choose my battle outfit as civilian outfit as far as it can.

Maybe I have a too realistic view on it but it's just stupid.

i guess thats because fights against gangs could become too easy when you and your companions would have full armor in towns.

It's one thing that you can only take a few things into town. But even if I have a sword which is allowed in the city I need it a second time and can't have one for both city and battle at the same time.

It is a bit annoying that you can't re-use the same item, but then again, I love the fact that you can have a secondary civilian outfit for relaxed settings. In Warband it worked a bit differently as far as I can remember, I'm pretty sure the civilian outfit was completely optional, and only activated if you dragged something into the civilian outfit, otherwise it would just use your main gear as your civilian gear.

I doubt they'll make the same approach here, seeing as they have perks in place to upgrade the types of weapons you can bring with you into towns. I don't mind this feature however. Yes it's annoying that you'll have to have duplicates of everything, but it's far from impossible to get, seeing as there are currently no unique weapons in the game unless you smith something yourself. Which you can just smith again, unless it's 'Legendary' in which case you'll have to grind smith a lot of those weapons again.

Possible fix? Allow you to mark melee equipment as civilian, unless you don't have the perk for bringing it with you. That way it should carry over to the civilian outfit.

I agree - also why can't a dagger be used in civilian clothing?

Yeah, useless and mostly confusing mechanics, just let me wear what i want, where i want.

Maybe they can convert that civilian inventory tab into a vanity tab, so we can change the appearence of stuff with the ones we like.

This feature cool and adds detail and realism to the game.. There is some good gear can use for this.

its not that confusing when you keep in mind that the game will have or once was supposed to have the ability to set up your own street gang lead by one of your companions and that fights against the other gangs would probably be way too easy if you and your companions would show up in high tier armor.

After actually fighting with a gang twice because i dont talk "sweet" with a bandit in town; i think players should show up in high tier armor (not serious :P well maybe little bit). Can give them idea who they might wanna skip faul talking :)

I think it's mostly a currently underdeveloped mechanic to not have you be a overpowered tank when it comes to in-city intrigue (like gang fights, maybe assassination attempts in the future etc)

Also, it makes sense.
I'm no expert, but I have a feeling that way way back in dark age periods local law enforcement probably didn't like people who weren't part of the local guard or in the local liege's retinue to be walking around in full body armour, shield's and halberds.
They might be okay with a small sword as a side arm though, depending on the local laws.
Again, makes sense. Imagine youre a local guard and the local mercenaries start a brawl in a tavern and now you and a couple other guards have to fight dudes head to toe in full chainmail with battle axes and tower shields lmao

Regardless of what its meant to do, the issue is that you need to buy a second outfit or weapon to wear in that slot. If my current armor counts as civilian clothing, why can't I keep wearing it, instead of buying a second, identical outfit.

You start off with identical out fits in both afaik. Why you can't just keep wearing it could easily be explained by world lore "No weapons/armor in the city!!"

It is a tad gamey, not that I don't agree.

Depends on how you start. My starts have me with a sort of leather jacket, I think, with normal clothing. Mind you, the leather jacket still counts as civilian clothing, and I can wear it just fine. If i want to, I can easily just switch it to the civilian slot, its just really damn annoying to do so. I know WHY I can't just go about wearing most types of armor in a settlement, I get that. The problem is my current " battle armor" IS seen as acceptable. The same with my tapered two-handed sword. The issue is that, in order to avoid buying the same exact gear twice, I need to go to my inventory, unequip everything, and it put it all in my civilian slots.
