3rd Person Camera
Anyone think they should change the third person view to something more fitting and visually pleasing instead of seeing your characters shoulders for the entirety of the gameplay? Just saying that maybe it should be more modern and have more of a finesse or feel to it as other games do like Witcher, For honor and Skyrim to some extent. I feel like the game should focus a little bit more on immersive-ness since it has a lot got going for it considering the setting of the game and the design.

There's also that and the literal mp3 that just flicks on for whenever something makes a noise without any real sound design to it, for example when someone would be playing the lute it would just turn on an mp3 of a lute song and you'll pretty much hear it everywhere without any dynamics to it. The game really has a lot of things that have stuck around from the previous Mount and Blades which is kind of underwhelming when you'd think that they would've improved on the general basics of the game over 8 years.

Since its in early access i guess they'll end up improving most of this stuff and make it really feel like the game that its priced at but it would be pretty lame if things stuck like this and would have to be helped by the modding community. But rn its pretty much imperative to only worry about the bugs and game breaking glitches that are happening to everyone so its fair to assume that most these types of complaints wont be the main focus of the development of the game

you can change the zoom with numpad + and -

there also is a key for a free camera where you can look around your character 360 degree.

I would like some camera options, yes.

I would never play in combat with anything other than a third-person, over-the-shoulder, standard Warband sort of camera setup.

But, I'd like some options in some situations. A "fly around" (rotation around character) would be nice in some situations. A limited "free camera" would be really cool in others. First-person? Meh... those are always terrible unless they're really fine-tuned especially for that view. But, I wouldn't mind if others enjoyed that.

It's really, really, hard to "improve upon Mount & Blade." Just sayin'... :) I am very, very, glad they kept many of M&B's standard features! And, they've improved on many and added others, so I'm happy there too.

I do, however, think that "polishing" will be part of the final Early Access period. I do think they will take a look at some bits that need some flourish or polishing. This title is something different with several development aspects to it and they are going to want to make it very appealing for a long-term audience. They'll want to do some polishing and I think they will be doing that throughout the game's worthy lifetime. (They will push MP, certainly, after EA is over and we'll likely see several cross-development bits and pieces flying between both modes as well.)

Agree I think there needs to be some love to the camera. Changes to the camera could improve immersion a lot and I feel that's what's lacking the most in the game.
I would prefer that the priority was on the first person camera though, it's not exactly useable

The first thing I did when I played this game is turn off the music, directional arrows, and pulled back the third person camera in settings to the max.

I agree. Luckily, there's a really awesome mod for this on the nexus:

Yeah its pretty claustrophobic if thats a suitable word, it feels empty and doesn't have enough clarity to it as if you zoomed in even with the dof full. To an extent it just feels like using noclip
