Capture Lord Quest - anyone know how to finish it?
Joined a faction.
Talked to Lord Lucon, faction leader, who gave me a quest to go and capture a specific Lord who he hated.
Captured him.
Quest updated to say "Well done. Now take him to a settlement of mine and you will be met at the gates with the reward (5k)"
Nope.
No-one there.

Thing is, the faction I joined has only got 1 Major City and 2 villages left. Everything else is gone.

I tried:

- talking to Lord Lucon but he just seems to think I am still hunting his target down
- dropping the captured Lord into the City dungeon

Nothing works.

G'Day, So if you're still wondering how to finish this quest here's how: So you fight and capture said lord, quest journal updates that you receive a letter blah blah blah, now the confusing part is that it says "next time you're at a settlement", if you scrolled down in the journal there is another line stating "Any settlement owned by the quest giver". So just go to the nearest settlement owned by the quest giver and its an auto interaction between an NPC labelled 'Guard'. The only real issue is on the way they may escape so save and save and save and possibly talk to the prisoner in your party ?unconfirmed if this actually helps with the chance of escape %

Anyway that's how you finish the quest.
tl;dr don't take the captured lord to 'any settlement' as stated in the letter, take them to a settlement owned by the quest giver.

Same problem here. Except mine is with King Caladog and I caught Thomund. Can't find the turn in.

Well, in the end, I just executed the Lord he wanted.
It completed the quest but instead of 10k, I just got 5k.

It may or may not have damaged my relations, I cannot remember.

Ah I'm still curious how to do it though if anyone comes across an answer. I wonder if you would have gotten the horse

I have the same quest, but the guy I was told to capture is already in Lucon's dungeon (he was caught by another NPC by sheer chance). Not sure what to do here, and I'd rather not take the rep hit on failing the quest.
Well he just escaped so scratch that, seems weird though.

The problem is when the quest giver does't own any settlements. I started my own kingdom, married a lady from another, then convinced father-in-law to leave faction and join mine. Father-in-law being quest giver in my case. But now having joined my kingdom as a second clan he no longer owns anything. And I can't seem to directly give him any fiefs either, even tho i have a town 2 castles and 6 settlements. I want to form him up in an army and capture something with him, but he never has enough troops to pull him into my armies, and every time i check on him I find he has been captured by looters or whatever LMAO. Nothing like having to baby sit the in-laws, just so you can do them a favor.

Mine is with King Caladog as well and it's probably not working either because he does not own a city settlement and I don't have a faction. But I'm no expert however, no matter how many ways I try, I can't finish this quest.

For me it worked only when I arrived at a city (not a castle, nor a village) that belongs to the quest giver. I didn't have to do anything, the meeting with a NPC guard started automatically.

Aha, good answer.

I must have totally missed that part of the journal and you saying it does make sense, I guess.

Cheers.

This post was months ago i know but i have a similar problem: Monchug gave me a quest: I need to capture Vasilia (a noblewoman from Southern Empire) and bring her to Monchug. I couldn't find her for many months. She was captured by other lords twice, then i found her in Lycarion's Lords Hall. But i can't see her in map, because she has not an army, so i can enter to lord's hall and can speak with her but i can't capture her. Should i take the whole city? :) It's weird. I can't see her if she gets out from city, because she hasn't an army. What should i do?

I was doing capture lord quest for Monchug, he wants Ascyron. I captured him, then went to Syronea (i know it is a empire city, but in my game, Khuzaits captured that city and Monchug gave it to himself. So Syronea was Monchug's fief). When i arrived to Syronea, automatically a npc comes and told me Monchug is grateful about this job and here is your gold. I said ok you can take Asycron, then game crashed. Hopefully i was saved the game before reaching Syronea. I will try again but i guess it will happen again. Is this quest broken now? Maybe it's about today's update. Can anyone finish that quest today?
The Assassin Mar 11, 2021 @ 3:21pm
Oh, I tried again but this time i bring him to Makeb, not Syronea. And everything is fine, i finished quest. So it seems even Syronea is Monchug's fief, you should bring him to one of Questgiver's STARTING fiefs. Don't bring him to other cities, even if he captured and take it to his own clan.
