Being a long-time PoP player, one of the first weaposn I went hunting for was a blunt weapon. I couldn't find any that were worth using from horseback... I didn't see that one, though, but am not really of high enough level to have seen all the weapons in the game.
I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a lot of one-hand blunt weapons we can use easily from horseback, though. (Depending on how the capture/knockout mechanics really work. I don't know that anyone has a firm report on those mechanics as of yet.)
Light royal mace is also decent, slightly shorted but higher damage. Usable from horseback as well; tier 3 tho.
My hope is that its possible to get one with crafting.
also seem to give more prisoner
MOAR PRISONERS! :)
At least, that would be the case if they're still using the Warband mechanics for capturing Prisoners by "knockout." For blunt, there's an increased chance of knockout damage, resulting in a higher likelihood of being able to capture prisoners who are knocked out instead of dead. :)
Sure, against armor it's nice, too. But... prisoners are money on two feet. :)
I purely want mace for roleplaying reasons but I would not want to be at disadvantage due to such choices. Previously I played a pure horse archer, now I am roleplaying a mace wielding knight. Next stop - a barbarian with a good ol' 2h axe.
As stated above, mace is great for knocking down enemies and taking them as prisoners. Since I refuse to get rich (again) via trading I need another way of making money. Prisoners and selling loot seems to be enough to maintain small army.
Time to dig into crafting then. Thanks.
Maces/Morning Stars etc are just pure style in my opinion, no matter if a sword would have better stats. I used maces in Warband almost all the time and this is my plan for Bannerlord as well.
