Siege towers are broken as ♥♥♥♥. The short ones have a bug at the platform that doesn't allow infantry to pass over the platform.
The long ones get your people suicidal. They reach the top of the ladder and either fall or get stuck there (I actually got stuck there once myself)
Oh and sometimes they use only one ladder or just completely ignore the whole ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tower,
So far, the only consistent strategy has been the use of siege ladders. Just don't be the first one up the ladder
It is sometimes funny to watch.
Get the ram to break down the first door, then ride in on your horse with all of your troops following you (F1 -> F2). Then you can just break down the door yourself. It takes a long time, I've not tried an axe or something two handed to see if that works better.
It's important to be on the horse so your troops don't get in your swing radius. Then they all go through the gate rather than just getting stuck on the ladders.
Of course this all goes to hell if your ram gets destroyed...
Sometimes the Follow Me works but not always.
