Just became a vassal and didn't get a fief
Is this a new mechanic ? In Warband, didn't the sovereign give you something as soon as you became a vassal ?

They don't give you one immediately as that would be giving you a castle, villages can't be given seperate of castles in bannerlord. But you will probably get the next castle/ city that is captured by your faction

Yes, in Warband getting a fief was part of the deal (unless you were a female).

In Bannerlord, it no longer works that way. Having said that, I'd recommend checking your clan screen to see if there are any fiefs associated with it. That's how I discovered that I actually have a fief. There were no notifications in my game...well, none that I noticed anyway.

I got a town, a castle and the other fiefs for just fighting didn't ask for anything. Killed armies and caravans.
In WB you got a village, they cannot give you those here and all castles and towns tend to be taken as they are assigned a day after capture at the latest.

So you can only get something if something new is conquered.

What pisses me off is that when I participate in the army that takes a castle or city, I'm not in the running for ownership.
It's always the ruling clan and some other two random clans as far as I can tell.
I once took 2 castles and a city, and I wasn't nominated for ownership on any one of them.
I was nominated for a castle at the other end of the map but I didn't take it because the commute would have been a ♥♥♥♥♥.

That's kinda hard with one AI faction steamrolls everything in their path.
I did that once, and managed to get 2 cities and 4 castles. Even managed to get some nobles from other factions to join me. Got to about 1000+ power in the Diplomacy tab.
Then the 11k pover empire declared war on me and my army of 500+ came up against the 1000+ army of that faction. I won, but at great cost.
And the next day, another 1k army showed up.
♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥

It's quite random. One game I didn't get anything, the next I was almost immediately awarded a town and 3 villages associated with it because my faction was in the process of conquering the Khuzait. Didn't ddo anything for it. xD
