You take a settlement but you're not even in the ♥♥♥♥ing list!?
Besieging castles is not worth it. I spend men and food in a long siege only to not even be in the ♥♥♥♥ing arbitrary list of people who may get the castle?!
What happened to "You have been wronged! Renounce your oath to your liege!"?!

Meanwhile all your other companions are decked out in the best gear and feasting on meats and cheese and wine, but when the battle starts they flop off their horses instantly and fall unconcious.

Technically you could be this sort of leader but it would be a crap move and wouldnt make much sense.

Yes, you are basically an unknown faction within my vast army because you helped I of course will grand you this vast inspiring castle-town!

- Said no ruler in history ever.

It's based on how many fiefs you already have. It prioritizes those with fewer fiefs first.

I usually decline any and all fiefs that aren't towns. Once you have 2 towns you can rack up income and you'll be set for the rest of the game xD

If you pledge yourself to something, say the army, then you take part in a battle and you win, you don`t then go to your leader expecting immediate promotion to major!

You wait, fight more battles, and eventually your influence will increase as you`re noticed and you`re suddenly given a castle.

It`s down to what the Lords think of you after a period of time and then they`ll vote, ie, "have younoticed that Rudinove chap. he`s been doing our Faction well, fighting battles and taking castles. Perhaps tis time we rewarded him?"

That`s how it works in real life as well as this game.

"take part"

Read above. I'm leading the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ army, I'm not "taking part in a battle"

Calm down. I know you`re in the army. Keep working to earn influence like I wrote and less of the attitude or you`ll NEVER get anywhere in the game- or Life, for that matter.

Go troll someone else.

I just told you I am leading the army, I am not in someone else's army.
The attitude... the only attitude that's wrong here is your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ attitude of voluntary ignorance. Read and check the situation that's being discussed before you blurt out this nonsense.

Irrelevant. You swore fealty to someone else who makes those decisions. Don't like it? leave.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do, but there's no "You have been wronged! Renounce your oath to your liege!" button.

It's in no damn way "irrelevant". "Not relevant enough", maybe, but "irrelevant" is just wrong.

Warband made sense. You took a castle and it was yours by right. If your liege tried to deny you the castle, you could keep it anyway and renounce your oath, tell Harlaus to go eat his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ butter back in Praven before you march on it and crush him. Here, not only are you unable to do that, you take the castle and you're not even in the list of people who can receive it

Why is everyone here being an absolute brainlet.

Dude took the castle himself. But wasn't even listed to get the castle for himself. Regardless of what you think this is an issue.

Perhaps tooltips will help, perhaps the person taking the castle should actually be in the list of people who can get it.

under the kingdom page, there's a button to Leave Kingdom, and you can take your fiefs with you, they do declare war on you if you keep them however.

It's good to see sensible replies in here at last. It was getting really annoying to hear YoU dOn'T jOIn An ArMY aND eXPeCt A ProMoTioN tO MajOr when the situation at hand is that the army is mine and I am not even on the list of candidates for the castle, much less the person who gets it.

Antix - the problem with that is that these fiefs are not considered yours. You take the fief and it goes to a vote, in which you're not even included as a candidate. If you leave the kingdom, and correct me if I'm wrong, the castle you just took still goes to someone else.

Not really. Harlus used to pay you about 90 denars to ♥♥♥♥ off and give him the castle you just conquered alone without notifying the marshall.
