Horses in inventory should eat tho :P
I would like to know this also because you end up getting the speed debuff for herd with to many...
do some horses give a penalty? the mules maybe (even thouh thy count as horses)?
Edit: But I always keep a little more than that. When I get the herd debuff, I just sell some.
At last I use this metode and works fine.
You will eventually get a Herd debuff for speed, so sell your excess horses or slaughter them.
No, the herd debuff applies for Tier 1 Horses (mules, stumper horses, camels), not for T2+. I've 3x as much horses as i would need and have no debuff.
And just on a sidenote: since 1.0.4 you actually should have spare horses and war horses, because cavalry upgrades require them (iirc this wasn't the case before).
