How to view the text log?

Is there a way to view the text and event log to see what recently happened in the world? The text has faded after something caught my eye, and I want to see what it was.

I don't see a button for this in menu, am I missing something?

Yes Im looking for this as well. Only thing I know of is press enter to see the last 3 or so events

When you do hit enter, there is a scroll bar to the left of the text.

when you hit enter the event log is empty...but one of my cities got attacked, but i dont know which one... i couldnt read it i missed it... so stupid how this isnt an option

For me its only blank at the beginning after I load the game. once news feed come in, its there when pressing enter. But im not sure how far in the past that reaches, or after what time those entries get removed again.
Its realy strange the defs didn't put the oldschool log window as in previous games. Cant be that hard to implement. My guess its just low priority at the moment with all the other gameplay bugs and will come back at some point.

It's realy pointless to lose the event log items.
I think I should be able to inspect the whole log whenever I want.

It's blank if a decent period of time has passed since the last general message.

Some messages are not repeated in that "Chat Log."

It only records either a couple of days of general messages or some line-limited amount. (Not like Warband's massive logs.)
