Disable autosaving?
I save on my own terms and having the game add all these 2 seconds for auto saving are just wasted wait time.

It is not a big issue but the loading screens would be nearly non existant without the auto save.

The option to disable autosaves (or adjust their frequency) is currently on beta and will come to main with the next update.

Yeah, I want to know how to do as well since auto-save only saves after combat which makes it useless. Why would I load after battle situation when I lost the battle?

So you can contimue the game from when you last quit ? You're not actually supposed to savescum in Mount and Blade

If I want to load when I quit the game, there's "save & exit" for that. Autosave is still useless for that purpose so you're wrong.

The only purpose of an auto-save feature in a game is that you failed and you reload latest save. It helps nothing when the save timing is all wrong.

auto save is there to save you time if the game crashes, or hopefully from game breaking bugs, which i am guessing is pretty useful since the game is in early access. Then again I haven't had a crash yet in 10 hrs of play.

It's not a safety net because it saves after the 'bad decision'. The only logical argument would be for crash dump sending purposes which nobody actually made. That still however will hold no meaning after EA. There still should be an option to turn it off since sending error dumps isn't mandatory.

It also helps prevent loss of as much progress if there is a crash you putz.
It's not there as a safety net for bad player decisions. It's NEVER been for that purpose in mount and blade.

Warband even had a setting with which you couldn't save manually. If you don't want to lose, and I hate to say this, git gud. The game becomes pointless if you savescum all the time

The thread is about disabling the autosave, not changing its timing. Basic comprehension is a more valuable skill than muscle twitches in life.

I don't think I ever even played warband with the manual saves turned on, so it's weird to have people effectively complaining that the autosave exists.

Good for you? But as I prefer to save manually the auto save feature that saves at a lot of situations just adds a lot of small but frequent increments of wasted time, so it's weird that there is no option to turn it off.
Yeah being able to turn off the autosave would be nice, if I wanted to save the game every few minutes I'd do it myself.
Save and Exit is plenty for me.

Cmon, dont be like that. Everyone enjoys a game on its own terms. Hardcore, Ironman or what ever modes are always an option for players like you. Point is that there is a pointless autosave system in place right now that helps noone and just annoys ppl.

Please, implement a customised autosave future, or at least make it possible to turn it off entirely. Why do you hate your players SSDs so much?

P.S. Wonderfull game otherwise!

Well, a SSD won't suffer much from that.

People like to vastly underestimate the lifespan of their ssds.

Unless you litterally using one of the first ever released SSD's you can quite litterally write to your SSD 24/7 and it become obsolete LONG before running out of read/write cycles. so a few autosaves in a game is not gonna put a dent in your SSD's lifetime AT ALL
One casualty, for me, with autosave locked on is that I've had to shut off cloud saves because uploading four save files after quitting takes quite some time over my crappy Internet connection. That wouldn't be a big deal, but uploading causes all other net activity to become unresponsive until it finishes. Unfortunately I don't have any options for better providers where I am.
