Item Highlights Bug?

I know that there are more pressing issues, but I wanted to get some clarification on a potential bug I found, or to find out if it's somehow user error.

While playing the game and trading in a city, while hovering over an equipable item, there are highlighted (in green) potential upgraded information, such as the superior item having a higher cutting damage. This is an excellent feature and I was happy to see it implemented.

After a few hours of playing, however, that feature seemed to disappear and now no longer highlights any superior stats on gear.

Is this a bug or did I potentially turn something off in the Options menu?
