Read about infantry square formation, which were effective against charges even tho it only consisted of 1 or 2 rows. In this game, no matter what, they push through and are able to run around and ruin formations.
Spearmen should easily be able to get people off their horses. Unfortunately it doesn't matter much in this game. This ain't no Lord of the Rings.
Or you can use game breaking technique by using yourself as a lure to all your enemies then tell your archers to fire at enemies. Enemies will totally ignore your archers and only focus on you because you are closest to them. Able to beat 1:5 ratio, but you got to have good armor and horse armor and your archers got to have enough ammo
1. This is a sequel IP, it has a chance to be better.
2. For the sake of balance, there shouldn't be anything too OP.
Archers on any high ground do the trick too.
Those damndable doom pitchforks they carry do a pretty good job of stunlocking my warhorse.
