All social skills are massively flawed
Holy shat these persuasion checks have been frustrating me to no avail lately, I started off putting all of my characters background stats into social (charm, leadership, and trade) because from my experience in warband leadership is by far one of the best skills, my thoughts being that ill use the power of persuasion to convince people to join me whilst amassing a larger army than my opponents and getting more money from selling ♥♥♥♥, that was the expectation, what I got just sucked butt soup.

My character started with charm at 55, it has been 563 days in game, I have constantly been at war trying to maintain my one settlement from the hordes of empire soldiers hurling themselves at my walls and have let every lord I have captured go free, I have 5 favor points in charm and 9 social (most of which came from character background) altogether culminating in an overall learning rate of 6.77x.

My charm is at 66 -.-
My leadership is 44
My trade is 40

I have 5 favor points in each of these and have been ACTIVELY TRYING TO LEVEL THEM

I almost have more children than points gained in charm and cannot fathom why such an important skill is completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken. With my 66 charm my amazing skill at charming people results in yep you guessed it, a whopping 14% success rate on a persuasion attempt, mind you that I have to complete said attempt 4 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ times in a row without messing up once. How the ♥♥♥♥ is this so stupidly broken, without the ability to persuade I cant get married, cant get lords to join me, and cant even complete some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quests because of this bs. When trying to get my guy married I had to scuttle across the map to 12 different ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ women, all of which refused me because despite dedicating my entire life to being charismatic I lacked the ability to convince ♥♥♥♥ to stink. I ended up save scumming in order to repeat persuasion attempts with someone in order to finally get married, it was hell especially thanks to the moron who programmed npcs to stop talking to you after you fail to persuade them. THIS IS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PERMANENT, ive tried to convince lords with 30+ relation with me to join only for me to slip up on one word and have them permanently refuse to join me. My poor character is stuck in persuasion check limbo being forever reminded that his entire lifes work was all for nothing

Leadership and trade also suck donkey anus because for whatever reason the person designing these social skills expects people to spend 20 real hours leveling a single skill, im so sick of leading a caravan halfway across the map to get 10 denars profit per keg of beer I sell only to see my trade skill leveled up 1 time after 5 minutes of waiting. Its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you dont earn trading xp for selling items you get from fighting, only for buying items and selling them at another town, so the 2 million+ denars ive made from selling the gear I picked off of fresh corpses along my travels are apparently meaningless and despite the thousands of soldiers ive recruited and lost in my never ending war against the empire my leadership seems pretty content staying at sub 50

I love the new skill system and what TW was trying to accomplish with it, but right now half the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skills dont work or are impossible to level, and even those that can be leveled require such a ridiculous slog through that it isnt at all reasonable. If you ask me the rate at which you level skills should be nearly 4x what it is now so that some of us can begin to see the effects our character makes on the world after 30 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hours of a campaign, the rate at which skills level without favor points is also ridiculously slow, at level 18 two handed my learning rate is 0.00 percent

This. is. dumb.

Despite having a load of fun with the game so far the fact that I cant succeed in persuading lords to join me or get married without having to save scum has pretty much halted my campaign as I cant get any allies as the empire has absorbed nearly every faction and all of their lords and I will be nothing short of ecstatic when they finally fix this

Bruh, i know the feeling. The persuasion mini game thing is so broken in bannerlord. It's completely RANDOM!! I tried maxing my leadership and charm skill and tried persuading a lord to join my kingdom and i failed 8x after reloading over and over and over. apparently the traits affect the conversation more than our skill? because i see valor green and calculating greyed. it's so crap!

TLDR: all skills are slow to level and subpar in benefits. I mean even the perks you choose at certain thresholds are useless in most cases.

Get the mod that speeds up skill leveling until the devs fix it.

I want the devs to fix the persuasion mini game. Like i have 100 relationship with the lord of a rival kingdom i have max charm and leadership, but the percentage is so random! it's so hard to convince them to join my kingdom and to convince noble women to marry! it's stupid

Of course the devs will fix it. But not today, nor tomorrow and probably not even this year. So currently you have only three choices:
- use the mod for speeding it up
- accept it and have fun with it
- go to the forum and write about it (which means wasteing yours and everyone's time)

The person designing these social skills...

Everything is bad about the new system.

The skills don't level. The unlocks on all the trees are mostly drab.

The focus points are ineffective. Attribute points are now rare.

Leadership & Trade have always been my number one and two skills. Now they are on life support.

I was wrong yesterday about the new attribute/skill system. I forgot they used to have 24 skills.

They have more attributes now, but less skills.

I understand your feeling, although I still believe that the new system will be fun when working properly, right now it is in complete and utter shambles

I have no idea why they made it so relation has absolutely no sway over other characters when in warband it was arguably more important than persuasion, I remember countless times in my warband playthroughs lords would literally line up in my court to join me because I played an honorable and merciful character, yet in this game I can defeat every one of a lords family members and let them go free instead of killing them, yet the head of the family will continue to happily march his armies right to my doorstep and proceed to knock them down all the while spouting out "I am sorry to do this my friend, but my obligations require it from me"

TW should add an event for lords in the case that their king orders them to fight a good friend in which they march their army on the target settlement, only to join their friend upon arrival stating something like "a king that orders me to fight my ally is no king of mine"

It would be so awesome to see some 600 man army marching to you, so you hunker down and prepare to fight only to hear from outside your gates "hey pal its ya boi and a few friends, lets go ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ up" and would add some much needed "spice" to the campaign

This isnt even mentioning the fact that in my campaign although I was fighting the Empire faction, the majority of the lords sent to fight me where the lords of the other factions, forced to join the empire when their peoples were subjugated, for all intents and purposes these people should harbor more sympathy to me (the last guy fighting the empire) than their new rulers

really easy to level would imply it takes very little time to get a high level, so my good sir unless you are around level 150 in trading after a decent amount of hours then no, I would not consider it really easy to level, something that is really easy to level is stewardship, which through simply holding multiple kinds of food I have at level 156 and am still getting roughly a level every 2 or 3 in game days

Ive seen a number of threads where people detail the millions they have made from trading, yet still remain under level 100 in it after over 20 hours

If it really is as easy as you say, why dont you provide some tip or something remotely helpful rather than saying im bad at it

Exactly the reason I don't buy such games until they're out of E.A and freaking not costing a kid's entire 2 allowances.
The times i've swore at TW... Especially for leaving the brother like freaking bugged. I'm very disappointed in tw.
At this state they could've at least dropped it to 20$...

Try buying low and selling high, that gets me great trading xp...the xp is not based on money made, but profit made...
