Best horses to speed up the clan?
So I have around 140 troops now and around 400 horses ranging from mules to the best ones.
Should I just sell the sh|tty ones and keep(buy more) good ones?

donkeys make up 70% of your carrying capacity so you're going to want to keep them
donkeys can carry a hundred pounds each
I see no reason to get rid of any mounts you have in your inventory this keep them there they all raise your carrying capacity the crappy or they are on speed the more they can carry the faster they are the less they can carry so they kind of balance their selves out

if I have the money I buy all the cheap horses and donkeys I can get when I visit a town also currently animals don't need any food and you could slaughter them for food if ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan

Avoid Sumpter Horses and Mules, as those mainly improve carry capacity and not party speed.

Look for any horse that has at least the "Horse Type: Horse" tag in the tooltip. The most cost effective ones are usually the Midland Palfrey & Steppe Horse.

Bonus tip: when adding horses to your inventory, you can check the impact on your party speed in real-time by looking at the icon on the bottom right. If you hover over it for details, you will notice the "Footmen using mounts" bonus. I think it maxes out at around +1.10

if you have enough mounts to cover everyone in your party your speed goes up to about 5.1
you don't need to go at 5 speed all the time most forces you encounter or around 3 to 2
so 3.5 or 4 is a good Mark to go for you can get those results even with donkeys in your inventory

I don't think sumpter horse and mules slow down speed at all, it's just carry more goods, so no need to avoid, but rather keep it. I kind of had 10 sumpter horse and few mules, no fast horse, but I used to for upgrade troop soon I had fast horse, so they can move map faster, basic 6.0 speed, not bad, it's not great, and very hard to get 9 speed because footmen waiting for fast horse to upgrade.
If you want a ton of horses for free find a mercenary army that uses horses and bully their armies until you get enough horses. Capture their leaders and just release them so they can build their army back up, then loot again. Some of those merc leaders even have gear I never seen in stores that you can get as loot from them.

Mercenary army? Is not red tag enemy? Do you had to make them enemies?

if you ever want to get into blacksmithing in this game you're going to need a lot of animals carrying your ♥♥♥♥ there is no storage locations in the game even when you get a castle or a town you can't store stuff there so you have to carry everything on you I probably have about 10,000 items in my inventory and this is after I sell all my garbage

I can't wait till somebody makes a mod that gets rid of stamina use for smithing most of my inventory is weapons waiting to be broken down
after I'm done recycling weapons I can get around 30,000 to 70000 from the bars if I don't plan to use them for crafting that's after I'm done doing about 15 to 30 battles I get that much in weapons I can break down
battles with over 200 people in them

there is storage. you go to keep, then open stash.
I don't think the type of horse matters, so long as it's not a Sumpter.

If you have too many horses for the number of troops you have though you'll get a "Herd size" speed penalty
DCBenton Apr 3, 2020 @ 2:19pm
Sumpter horses and mules increase your carry weight, the ones labelled as horses increase your speed, if you have more horses and other animals like cows etc than you have people you get a herd modifier which slows you down. You also need diff types of horse to upgrade troops to cavalry.

Actually you can store any of your items in your own town or castle. When u enter the town click on "go to castle " and there's your storage on the next page ""
