Which faction is closest to savage vikings?
This is my first time ever playing a mount and blade game. I was wondering which kingdom would best fit my goal of being a savage viking type. I have heard that the sturgians are the equivalent of vikings, but they don't seems as bloodthirsty, set on raiding and pillaging, or as barbaric as I would hope. Battanians seem to be closer to that extent, but I don't know how they act in game. I was just wondering on your thoughts on which would be a better faction for that kind of playthrough. Thank you.

Yeah the Sturgians are the vikings. They are descendants or something from actual vikings, wich is a real shame. I hate it how they showed gameplay with actual Vikings, the loading screen shows an actual viking and then you get the Sturgians. They have more Eastern influences rather then Northern.

Sturgia is based on the vikings that took over parts of Rus (old russia) after exploring up the northern rivers.

That is good to know. I thought they were a bit different from just a normal viking. Thanks for the information.

One of the recruitable companions - I think its "the Lucky" title male actually talks about his family whom are raiders. His goal is to save up enough money for a ship to go raiding. So if you want a good natured Viking companion hes a good one to pick up.
