List of companions and their skills?
Is there somewhere a list of companions and their skills? I only get companions with fighting skills. I would really need some companions with other skills, but you cannot see it before recruiting.

They all seem to be randomly generated, which is annoying, but since they can die, needed. If you press N and go to heroes, you can select Wanderers in the filters, and get a list of all the heroes you can recruit. Click on one, and all of their skills will be listed below their portrait

Thanks, that helps. Sadly all are fighters but about 5 are healers. Either I have a really bad spawn, or it needs to be fixed.

I have a question: if a hero dies, can we access their inventory to grab back what we gave to them?

If you mean die in battle, they do not die. If you mean by age, I did not have had an old enough companion yet.

But there is an option to allow heroes to die in battle. My question is about that option.

It only lets you execute enemy vassals at the moment. No idea what changed later. Guess your own character is also supposed to die off age and your heir takes the place.

Huh, that's strange. I didn't enabled death on my save game yet I can execute enemy vassals.

I strangely have the opposide. I enabled death and I do not get any dialogue for my prisoners.

Depending on which kind of companion you are looking for - you might get disappointed:
Beside fighters there are only a couple of companions which have also roguery, healing, scouting and tactics.

Currently there isn't any companion for anything else (no stewardship, engineering, trading, charming etc.). Which is pretty annoying, because of the lack for governors, quartermaster and so on.

For now the best use of companions is kind of counter intuitive. You want to select the companions with the lowest stats, ie 90/90/90 in weapons for the generic combat ones, or any of the healers or one who claims to be a scout.

Then give them gear that matches their lowest proficiency that still has green for them to skill into, for instance if they have 75 archer and 60 thrown with a max of 90 in both they'll skill much faster with thrown. Once they level you can put points elsewhere to help them level more.

If you give a 120/90/90 one/two hand/pole with 90/70/70 bow/cross bow/thrown a sword and board and a bow then they will never ever level up because they're already maxed in all skills. They're stuck like that.

Almost all of them can get some cheap XP doing black smithing (click on your picture on BS screen and select different companion). Really handy when you want to preserve your stamina for real forging while your companions do smelting/refining.

they can spawn with really bad stat allocation from my experience.. I kinda wish i could get them to spawn at a lower level so i had more control how they leveled.

I also wonder if they all die, do new ones ever eventually spawn?
