How to "all charge" and "follow me"?
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get troops to charge or follow. I am just given the option to move them and set formations...

F3 to chaaaarge!

I use 1-4 to select archers, horse archers ect. then I press F1 followed by F1,F2 or F3 to select stand ground, follow me and charge.
If I press 0 it selects all the unit groups and i use F1 followed by F1,F2 or F3. (to command all units at the same time)

Also be careful of who is selected.
ex. if tell only the infantry to do a certain action, and then say "charge", only the infantry will charge.
To make sure the whole party is selected press "0" on your keyboard

You can also hit F1 with no units selected to select all. A little easier to reach than the 0 key,

For people lazy with tactics all you need is F1 and then either click to station your units, F2 to follow, or F3 to charge.

I would like to pre-select formation and perhaps who is in what unit group outside the battle. I dont have time to mess with that while the battle is happening.

Yes, that was it but its a bug with the game. My F1 button is not being detected by the game but it is by everything else.
Maybe the select all on F1 somehow got unbound?

Maybe you have a keyboard with FN modifier? Try pressing FN and F1 together

Just checked. When I try to rebind F1 its not recognized but every other button is. And F1 100% works outside of the game.

Also as a tip, F6 makes your officers lead (basically AI will control your army), you you don't feel like doing it yourself.

Moving troops between groups can be done in the party window. Once you select a troop type, in the right upper corner of their looks screen, you have a brown background with a roman number ex. I, II, III. If you click on that, the troop type will be within a specific group - pretty handy if you want to divide your sword wielders from spear troops ;)
