Why the enemies on map are always faster?
I just bought the game today and i found frustrating that the enemies on the map are always faster than my unit, at the start my speed was 3.5 and enemies aways was 3.7, I purchased a better horse so my speed now is 4.5 but the enemies are now 4.9, why?

I have spent nearly 5 o 10 minutes trying to reach a unit to start the combat but either i give up or an neutral unit reach it first.

Is this intended or I'm doing something wrong?

Having extra horses in your Party will fix this mate

Buy horses and keep them in inventory, prefer fast ones. That combined with khuzait start lets your army of 50 outrun 5 man looter squads.

Buy some horses (not mules or the really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ horse) as they can give a buff to infantry to ride them while also employing some cav, the game gives extra speed off the amount of men are riding horses as well as some based off skills. Also try not to carry more than you are able, that has come once or twice on accident upon my party after a few battles.

you can't just have 100 horses. you need as many horses as you have men who are not cav otherwise youll get a penalty for herding and having too many horses

Also, level up your riding. Or get companions with high riding skill. Riding affects campaign map movement speed.

You need to buy horses that require HORSE SKILL to be able to increase move speed. TO have max speed you need to have enough horses for every infantry you have (10 soldiers = 10 horses in inventory)

Any horse (not mules) increases movement speed. Even sumpter horses. The amount is not as much as the better horses, but it does affect the speed by at the least 0.1 in sufficient numbers.

You need to have horses that have Horse Type: Horse or Horse Type: Warhorse at the bottom of their stats page. These count for the purpose of increase movement speed on the map. The Mule and the Sumpter horse are considered Pack animals and they only give Carry Weight, no speed at all.

Thank you all for the quick replies, it's my first game and didn't see how to equip horses for the non tutorial party, so I was selling the old horses. I will take note of these tips, very appreciated.
