Any good tips on profitable workshop locations?
I have a smithy in a Rovalt but it gives me a small profit of 79 denars per day. I want to know if someone has found a workshop that gives reasonable profits (something above 500 would be nice) Or how can you predict what workshop would be profitable? I don´t quite understand the economy system in the game

Put your workshop in towns where a local (connected) village provides the raw materials, that way the price for materials is lower.
1.0.0 you could get several thousand a day. 1.0.1 it's capped at 200.

The recent patch made all workshops pay no more than 200 so you never see a 500 workshop.
build a carpenter shop in any town.

From my experience, all locations are great, it just depends on the type of workshops you make, make smithies or wood workshops.

The game is currently locking income from profits at 200 because you could make absurd amounts of money from workshops. A really lazy way of fixing the problem, but hopefully they remove this later on and workshops work properly.

They've just applied a quick and dirty fix for Workshops, no matter how much they make. You'll never get more than 200 gold per day.

The reason for this is that Wood workshops where a bit too good (one in Epicrotea could make up 10k per day for, but it required you as a player to import hardwood)

I've also set up at Smithery in Myzea, that one felt alot more balanced it was making around 500-1000 gold per day, and if i purposely supplied it with Iron Ore and Hardwood i could up to and around 2000-3000 gold per day.

Not sure if that works. I opened a wool shop or whatever it's called in a city that had 2 surrounding villages "produce" sheep, yet the shop made almost no money, like 30 ducats a day even after some time has passed. Then I switched the same shop to brewery and despite not having any wheat farms nearby it produced 100+ ducats per day. I checked the cities traders and beer was very low in storage and in demand, while wool wasn't really in demand. I guess sometimes it's probably be better to just check whatever price is the highest in the city instead of what villages produce. But I haven't done a lot of testing yet.

My wood workshop has current capital of over 150k and rising fast and i cant even sell it as no one can afford it, hopefully the next patch will fix this.
It needed looking at but this was too much of a knee jerk reaction

So with the latest patch the smithy and wood workshop got fixed, denar cap removed, it is no longer overpowered. How are you supposed to know what is profitable in a city?

Look at what it very cheap in a town (green) and see if thats a raw material, if it is then make a workshop that uses that material to produce an end product.
Right now though its not really worth it, its better to earn money from battles as workshops have been nerfed into the ground.
The best money earner ive made so far was attacking a mercenary company that was attached to an enemy empire which netted me 1.2m, not bad for a 15 minute battle :DominaRetiarius:

how do you supply workshop. just sell on local market or what?

It buys from the town so what the town has it uses, i think you could give them raw materials in warband (VC) its been a while since i played it though and ive not seen an option on bannerlord to give them materials so we will have to assume that it takes from the towns supply exclusively for the moment
