Memory Leaks/RAM issues
When posting your specs SPECIFY IF DDR3 OR DDR4

Just gonna put this out there, in case the devs see it and make it more of a priority and this NEEDS TO BE A PRIORITY.

The game has massive RAM usage issues. I have 8 GB of RAM (inb4 get more RAM), which is enough to run every game I've tried so far.

So what happens is the following:

When im idling (just Steam+MSI afterburner) I have a RAM usage of 1,3 GB.
Under the processes tab Bannerlord never exceedes 3GB RAM usage.

Add those two numbers together and you have 4,3 GB, let's go with 5 GB in total to be on the safe side.

If I look at Performance tab, it will say 7,6/7,8 GB used. This means there are 2,5 GB of RAM of I don't even know what sitting there.

My specs:
i5-4460 (Total usage when running Bannelord around 50%)
GTX 960 MSI 4GB, GPU shouldn't be in any case the issue.
8GB DDR3 1633 Mhz
win 8.1

Definitely not the best, but also decent enough to be able to run the game.

Why I consider this to be important and the first thing to be adressed?
This is EA, if you want more feedback you need people to be able to run this game properly, to find out bugs and other things that could be killing performance.

my two cents.

From what i've seen 8gb isn't enough to play the game wich isn't what they recommend on the store page. I recommend posting it on here
https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?forums/mount-blade-ii-bannerlord.528/
Since i doubt the developers will see this post between all of these discussions.
Despite popular myth of ''8gb is enough to run everything'' it isn't since windows 10 and 16 gb is enough only if you do nothing else besides play games.

They recommend min 6gb or rec 8gb

This cant be true? This is the only game i am having this problem in. I always watch a stream or youtube when playing any other game. But Bannerlord is the only game where it stutters like this. I also have 8GB ram like OP.

As time is going on, 8GB isn't going te be enough anymore for upcoming games.

Yes it recommends 8gb for good performance, wich is incorrect.

Depends on the game, I upgraded from win 7 to win 10 and immediately more ram demanding games like kingdom come deliverance became unplayable. Win 10 eats that ram way more so really 16gb of ram if you don't want to run into ram problems with any game.

And think of this, if the game wants 8gb ram what about the 2-4 gb windows and other programs want? What happens is ram gets compressed, bad performance is the result.

8GB should be enough, optimize your software.

I did what the main thread said about sound settings, vsync etc to fix stutering and it has helped, I also let nvidia geforce experience optimize the game for me, campaign map is definitely smoother now, Im eager to see how combat will be.

Also I suspect it might better to put some settings higher, to shift the load on to the GPU, this was the case with Arma 3 for example, that performed better on med setting than on low.

16 gb of ram is enough to run any game atm and even other programs so yes if you had ram problem it will be fixed.

You can try to increase Virtual Memory (pagefile.sys) size - https://www.x-plane.com/kb/increasing-virtual-memory-on-windows/

I would like to know your toughts about this again if you've been in actual fights with 500 man army. I've tested by swapping 32gb to 8gb and battles become unplayable, especially sieges.

Yeap, I just had a battle with around 470 units in total and it was almost unplayable and my RAM was capped at 7,8 GB.

Either they optimized it or I go to the store and buy some sticks, oh wait thanks to Corona I can't buy/order ♥♥♥♥ now.

There you go, that's why i'm saying the store page is incorrect. Hopefully it becomes playable for you bud.
