i have also been trying to fix this for 2 days, everything humanly possible and have almost an hour play time on steam just trying to launch the game since release lol.
everybody i know who uses windows 7 cant play this game, even though they stated minimum requirements as windows 7.
Hopefully they patch it out at some point, but for now all we can do is sit with our thumb in our anus as we paid £40 to watch other people alpha test a game
- Get CCleaner, clean your PC, and fix registry errors with it (do this preferably after the Steam wipe, if you choose not to wipe you should still do this anyways)
- Try running it in compatibility mode for another Windows edition
Can you run other games just fine? If so, it might honestly be a bug with the game that has yet to be resolved. It is early access atm unfortunately and not guaranteed to work yet.
white screen of death is a widespread problem for win7 x64 users i believe
I get the white screen every time I start the game I go have a snack get a fresh glass of ice water use the toilet and come back and its gone... I would say it lasts about 90-150 seconds as if its a long loading screen with nothing on it...

And I live and Breath with a program called Lasso
I use it to keep games from maxing out my CPU bye throttling with it I can run
RDR2 fine and have little to no issues with this game....
I don't know if that's the difference but you might want to check it out.
I tried not doing anything but after a while it says
"Application crash"
The application faced a problem. We need to collect necessary files to fix this problem. Would you like to upload these files now.
Then no matter if I click yes/no it just completely crashes and stops working
I did this like 100 times minimum , tried all the fixes possible to no avail. It's getting really annoying at this point.
I would check out Project Lasso its FREE so try it out... And you can find easy short tutorials on how to use it on youtube... Basically what it does is manage your systems resources better then windows and it takes a frozen core shuts it down and restart's it... and throttles the packets so your system doesn't actually crash it might do a momentary stutter and then continue on....
