How does charm work? How do you level it?

I know there are some parts where you socialize but what is the best way to level it?

I found that releasing lords boosts it pretty well. Interacting with nobles also gets you xp-the little social mini game that you play. Courting doesnt seem to do anything to it though.

Releasing lords? Doesn't also affect relation?

Yes, but not with the specific lord-looks like its clan relation, so it increases relations with the clan. So all lords in a clan share the same relation level with you.

I know that my charm stat is broken, I've made dozens of barters, successful persuasions, etc and not +1 XP point in charm.
