And then it turned out that the faction that lives in woods, and on whose territory are full of forest robbers , does not have in millitary tree cheap peasant archers.
Thats what im talking about. It seems like everything is slim pickings but conscripts.
Keep in mind I wouldnt mind just starting with conscripts and leveling them up. But because I can only get conscripts I have no access to bows or 2h... in a bow/2h faction.
And why the "Battanian Picked Warrior" is actually worse than his previous form in polearm, while he is bearing a damn polearm. Also he has 150 skills on bow...WHILE NOT HAVING A BOW. Just...wtf ?!
I feel like Warband trained us that that because a Faction has A- type of unit strength, said unit will make up most of their army, but here it doesn't seem to be the case. Battania, being a Celtic inspired faction, fights a lot like they would have. Their units are often fast, lightly armored, are superb in flank and skirmish tactics, such as ambushes. They're Celts, not Archers, even if archers are their best units.
previously played perisno and there it worked the same (just you could get nobles only in castles for relatively huge sums)
I mean i dont realy mind them having elite soldiers that are harder to get otherwise disiplinarian would be pretty weak and you would once agein be able to build up full on elite armys
Easiest way i've found at least dure the vassal part of the game is to be at war with Battania and recruit them from captives.
A dude making his first mode over a weekend would have put more attention to detail into them than the devs have (like checking to see if your crossbow troops actually have any points in the crossbow skill etc).
In fact the guys fixing the troop trees in the mods did just that. For now I have kind of shelved the game since the late game is even more unfinished.
The skeleton of a good game is in there, but the flesh currently hanging on those bones is mostly rancid right now.
