Realistic is nice. Lots of games have mods to play UI-less. Make it more immersive to play.
Im not a fan however. I play games for fun. To me, fun isnt a limited view of the battlefield. Fog of war here seems to be realistic in that its not a big black nothingness that keeps you from seeing enemies. Its the hill or some trees that keep you from seeing any threats.
Thats real and thats fun. To an extent.
But personally id rather not have to deal with it. I have enough challenge keeping my kingdom together or keeping my finances in order. Mabey i just want to play this as a pseudo rts. No its not how the game is to be played, but with a bird's eye view or some such feature it could be. Adds to player choice. Make it an option.
I can do without the lack of a strategic battle map or some kind of birds eye view of the battlefield. Id rather see everything so i can play like a strategist. In a game. Not a real life strategist who doesnt know everything thats going on.
Sure its more real but this isnt a realism medieval sim. Its an amalgamation of games. Business manager, army manager, finance and trade, kingdom sim, battle sim, and with a way to see an overview of the battlefield we will have a rts lite sim. It enhances the game.
