I don't believe that a historically grounded game, thus, should have a Sanguo Yanyi Lu Bu figure, who can dominate a hundred men with a swing of his polearm.
I do like the general idea of characters being good at different things, however, and I'm hoping stats and skills model this effectively. I do know there are perk trees associated with business and stewardship, so I'm hopeful there'll actually be weight to assigning the right people to the right tasks come clan management time.
i don't remember any character from Warband because they lack of unique identity... only remember the Kings, the generals are all the same.
yes i mean not magically strong as the old tales... but i wish in each faction, there should be at least one or two powerful warriors who are very hard for us to defeat in battle or in 1-on-1 to make the game more challenge and fun.
other lords good at business, stewardship, treasury, blacksmith, forager, logistic, science lol, for us to rely on
I hear you there, yeah. We may get this, but it won't be by design. It sounds like the characters now will be generated mid-play and will more or less do the same things we are, meaning they'll grow in various ways. So we may find ourselves up against a very proficient fighter here and there, or we may come across a particularly shrewd businessman, but it won't be by design.
At least, I don't think. I'm not 100% clear on how they're handling characters now. All I know is they've used the word "hundreds" to describe them. Point is, I think we'll be getting characters that are sort of like players, meaning they'll have the same stats and skills that we do, which means they'll be able to specialize the way we potentially can.
I didn't play mount n blade in 10 years, I still remember Lezalit
Yup, it's official: this post is the answer to the OP right there. And thank you for making me spill my drink, was worth it :)
Heheh. If you're serious about this comment, you can read about him here.

Basically he was a warrior-general who had a hard time with the concept of fealty.
