GTX 1080: 40/50 fps, normal ?
Hi

Do you think it's normal for a GTX 1080/i7 8700 to be at 40/50 fps ?

All settings max and 1440p

It is quite annoying for future battles with hundreds of soldiers...

Thanks

maybe sell your 1080 and replace with 5700xt, for some reason second hand 1080 ti's cost more than brand new 5700xt's even though they are 5% slower, not sure this will help but 5% extra performance on shiny new card cant hurt

Yeah, i think im gonna do it, but i wait for optimization cause gtx 1080 stays pretty descent nowadays.

But im so addicted to this game, than, if i need to go on a rtx 2080 to be confortable with max settings on 1440p during solo battles with hundreds of warriors, i'll do it without hesitation.

Does 5700xt handle ray tracing ?

there are user created drivers for ray tracing on amd cards. they dont handle ray tracing as well as nvidia though, about 40 fps on minecraft. that being said nvidia cant really handle ray tracing either. ray tracing is a fad at the moment, just reduces your framerate by around 100 fps. it simply wont be viable til the consoles have ray tracing imo

I'd definitely wait for optimization before doing anything drastic.

Yep, and the less we could say is that there is some work remaining on this subject for Bannerlord development team

A 1080TI is about 10% faster than a 5700XT

I have an i9 9900k + 2080 TI with my 3440x1440p monitor and i usually get 130 fps.

At this point, that's no more a computer... that's a war machine

Actually, i'm more at 55 fps than 45.

It could be sufficient but there are those regular drops at 25 that make it difficult (generally it comes when there is a lot of warriors at screen with massive contacts)

I run on 1440P as well with a 1070ti Runs fine for me. Are you playing with HDD or SSD?

Jupp, many warriors at the screen lead to massive frame drops. But it is somehow not the Cpu that gets limited because the fps are higher at a lower resolution with the same amount of soldiers. So something from the soldier animations eats away Gpu power. Maybe the cloth animation or the reflection from the metal armor. And 4k also eats away way more than it should. At 1080p I get nearly 200fps in some scenes, while in 4k I only get 50-60fps max in the same scene. Normaly 1080p to 4k should cut the fps in half, not quarter it. So to all these who are playing at 1080p mid range computers, it is not the same as in 4k. So no wonder you get decent fps.

SSD of course. We are not in dark age anymore ;)

Haha! Well, the game is right now course in beta and not well optimized. However I'm able to reach 50 ~ 70 fps. Have you installed your latest driver versions?

Yep. Last drivers installed.
I think you're right, the solution will probably come with new drivers.

No I think the solution will come with TaleWorlds preformance updates :P. In the meantime lower your graphics just a bit. It's stilla beta so this isn't unusual stuff :).

I think it will be a close collaboration between nvidia/amd new drivers and taleworld's updates
