"For a game with the word Mount in the title, it is something we thought we should take a closer look at."
"We realised it was time to stop horsing around and put a little more effort into one of Mount & Blade’s mane attractions."
They have pointed out several times that they want to perfect the horses, since the word "Mount" is in the main title of the game. And its their main attraction they said.
They are putting so much time, thought and effort into the horses that breeding will most likely be added.
They already said we have different types of horse breed for each faction, so it shouldn't be to hard to implement. Each type of horse has its own stats, which determine their charge damage, speed, manoeuvrability, hit points and carrying capacity of the horse.
We already have the ability to make custom weapons and also children that are born with genetic traits from their parents. So they can just use those same systems for the horses. After all, horses are the focal point of MOUNT & blade, more important then children. They also already have a "horse mark system" so each horse looks unique.
If horse are so important that they needed several dev blogs about reins, manes, saddles, marks and breeds. then it would be a MAJOR hindsight if the ability to breed horses is never added.
Not to mention, it was a "glaring inaccuracy" in warband, something they take very seriously.
How else are all these horses coming to Calradia? By boat shipments? nope that would be a "glaring inaccuracy".
In this rearing animation[www.taleworlds.com], the movement of body and legs are completely fine in my opinion, but the angle of the horse’s head is painfully wrong for anyone who’s familiar with horses and their anatomy. The digital mount’s chin bends back almost enough to touch the base of its neck.
While it’s unfortunately true that some riders overbend their horse at the poll (i.e. where the head meets the neck), what we see here is not just “possible but unhealthy” but physically incorrect: the horse’s jaw basically disappears into its neck in the animation.
Also the spear on the characters back clips right through the entire horses body. Ya that's really realistic ?
Not to mention, how unproportional the size of the head is with the body. And how tiny the horse looks compared to the rider. And don't get me started on the horse breeds.
Unlikely, but we do have Male Donkey + Female Horse = Mule
not sure about camels though.
Modders can probably make the human and horse mix though, so no worries.
that's not how you'd carry a lance on your back anyways. not to mention the sabre is clipping too. also quiver on back meme.
I'm more interested in selective breeding people. That way I can have the Blonde, Brunette, and Redhead Armies.
Redhead = main force (you know those fiery red heads)
Brunette = injured and old (had the fire beat out of them)
Blonde = I tell people they are my flanking force but they actually just got lost/confused
