So basically they are sending out closed-beta codes with people who have friends and family members inside TaleWorlds. This is a screenshot a friend shared in a public group, he received the mail today.

You know you are smart when you let your friends and family members play the game instead of seasoned Warband players and people who've been dedicated and waiting for almost a decade. I'll probably get banned for sharing this, which will prove that it's real, so, goodbye.

Edit:

Didn't get banned, however it was confirmed by devs

Lmao nice trolling, friends and family are usually the first to see *every* game. Take it as a sign development is getting to the point where they are confidently sharing with a wider and wider circle including friends and family.

You, nor anyone else is entitled to a closed beta key.

I didn't get the mail, I don't know anyone inside TaleWorlds. A friend of a friend received the mail and shared it in a public group.

This is the most promising news I've seen in a while. And for those wrong english folks, that date is 12 Jun not 6 Dec

OP if you're fluent in turkish, translate it or at least give us the gist of it.

The translation:

Welcome to the Mount & Blade: Bannerlord family and friends test!

As a friend or family member of our studio, you are one of the first testers of our game. You were invited to this test since you know someone in our studio. Please take this into consideration when you participate in our tests.

The game is still in progress so we want you to keep the information about your participation hidden from anyone but the other participators. Additionally, please refrain from sharing screenshots, videos and anything of the sort with anyone but the test group. If you want to talk about the beta and give feedback, please use the Private Beta section in our private discord.

We are aware that there might be tense situations due to the competitive nature of this multiplayer beta. However, we expect you to be respectful towards other testers.

You can activate the beta on steam with the key provided below and start downloading. However, you won't be able to access the game yet. Tomorrow (12/06/2019) we will update the game prior to the beginning of the beta. We are planning to start the beta at 20:30 Turkish time. After the test, you will receive an email about feedback. We will be sharing detailed information about the test program in the following days.

Thank you for accepting to participate in our beta!
We hope you enjoy the game!

I don't think people realize the sacrifice programmers have put into games over the years. It really does take a toll on their social life. It, of course, happens with all kinds of careers; but in this particular case and career, I say that at the very least, their families deserve to be first!

If their families really deserved to be first and they wanted them to be, they should find a different career.

Life is a culmination of choices you make.

They have made theirs.

If they are working slave hours for this game, which is highly suspect considering the lack of progress, then maybe their families just arent worth a whole lot to them.

Lets look at Steam DB as soon as the Beta "starts" and see if this is true.

Even if they released Bannerlord today, it'd flop. They've waited too long, and now their graphics, mechanics, and engine are too far behind.

They're destined to either:
A) Stay in developing limbo, trying to update their game to be on par with games that came out 5 years ago. Basically become Dead Island 2, where it never moves past TBA.
B) Release the game sooner, selling an even more buggy and clunky mess than they're known for.

No matter what they do, the only market that will pick this up is their niche fan base. It's already not a well-known or popular genre, it doesn't help that it looks on par with the original Mount and Blade. I'll be very surprised if this game is ever released, and not just perpetually sold to lesser and lesser known developers.

The thing that makes me call BS is no company would give out a non public early copy of the game or beta without requiring the tester to sign an NDA. Simply saying please refrain is not something they would do.

I am gonna guess that the devs family's are all avid fans of mount and blade.
I mean it would be really stupid if none of them liked the game they were testing or had no interest in it at all.
Taleworlds throw us a bloody bone or something the dev blogs talk about features that are cool but we need invigorating.

This is likely true as Callum didn't deny it on the Taleworlds forums.

And I'm sorry that you feel offended that other people will have the chance to play before you, but you will get your chance. Our team has worked hard on the game for some time now, and this is both a good way for them to show their friends and family what they have been doing for all these years , as well as, test our systems in preparation for inviting members of our community in.

I mean, at this point, I just have to laugh at how fast it was leaked.

Sounds like things are moving.

So it will be all Turkish testers for the closed-beta?
Not much variety

Why do you think all testers will be turkish?
