Napoleonic wars?
I bought M&B almost completely for the Napoleonic Wars DLC. I'm one of those regiment guys. I love the Napoleonic era and pretty much all time periods that involve similar warfare. The Napoleonic DLC community is very large and alive.

What I want to know is: Have the devs mentioned "line battle" DLC or hinted at it? Would it be safe to assume that they will add it in at some point? I plan on buying the game either way but I would explode with joy if the devs gave us a DLC like this...there isn't a game even close to M&B Napoleonic DLC and I am in love with it...I appreciate any info anyone gives :)

Bannerlord 2020, Napoleon DLC 2022. I hope I am kidding. :)

lol, It wouldn't suprise me.
Because the bannerlord multiplayer server will only go up to 100players (200 isn't possible with such a big and complex game and don't forget the graphics) it won't be the same as the MB NW dlc if there will even be a dlc for bannerlord.

I'm with you Napoleon. I love Napoleonic Wars for M&B, it's the only reason I bought M&B, and would love to see it come out for Bannerlord.

In the future sure, but many people want a fully fleshed out medieval/sword role playing game.

If it was up to me, personally, the big standalone for bannerlord would be in a different time period. Or i would even go as far as make the standalone a medieval fantasy with elves and goblins/orcs/trolls. Creating your own lore can pretty fun.

Oh yeah, I don't begrudge people wanting their medieval experience with Bannerlord, and I'll be buying Bannerlord regardless (unless it sucks). But I'm most excited for them to continue with the Napoleon mod/DLC work. That era of warfare is so ignored in games (outside of pure strategy games), and discovering how fun musket era tech could be in an action game was a real revelation for me. I need to live my Horatio Hornblower fantasies!

There's a Napoleonic game in alpha stage called Holdfast, which (I think) is being made by the team behind the original Mount and Musket. It looks....well it looks like a better version of NW and worth keeping an eye on.

if it can hold 200 players per server(doubt it) then why not

Out of curiosity why do you doubt the server size could be 200? No disrespect to TW, but it's not like they have some secret networking sauce from 2009.

Why are we commenting on the multiplayer sizes at all? It's not like they have released any information on it, so saying 100 or 200 is 100% speculation

Plus the original reasoning for why they can't do 200 at a time is faulty. Complex graphics are mostly (all?) handled on the user side by your computer's GPU/CPU. As long as your PC can run the game, having good graphics shouldn't impact the network aspect.

As for the complexity of the game, that doesn't necessarily translate to MP. The MP in Mount & Blade Napoleon is not simming Mount & Blade online. It has maps that are fairly typical for any online MP shooter in terms of size and interactivity. It doesn't try and run the M&B open world in a MP game, and neither would a Napoleon mod for Bannerlord.

Because how many games with more than 100 players on small maps do you know?
The only one I know of is the one that was made by the guys who are making this game.

Need ai to make this game great or it will be mediocre. Which is what I fully expect. What amounts to yet another arena shooter out of hundreds of garbage arena shooters.

It's made by the same team that made Mount and Musket (Which later turned into Napoleonic Wars) I believe.
