Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Egyptian faction DLC?
Good idea to have an Egytpian faction DLC?

On another game forum they were talking about factions and I thought Egyptian sounds perfect, and even better for this fictional game. Also someone else mentioned the Aztecs and Mayans as a different sort of faction. Got to add Asian inspired faction also.

Anyway, there is alot of interesting factions that could be added.

This is why you don't argue on the internet with children who don't understand the basic concept of the genre of Historical Fiction which encompasses many things including taking real historical factions and realms and slightly altering them.

People expect the combat in this game to be semi-realistic in the sense that an army of ehyptians with 0 armor and weapons made of bronze would get horribly destroyed in a matter of minutes by a peasant leavy given ♥♥♥♥♥♥ iron weapons not even decent steel.

Slightly altered HAHAHAH. There are barely any similarities at all.

GET REAL

Not the same flags, not the same languages, not the same maps, not the same names of factions or historical figures, QUITE LITERALLY THERE ARE NO SIMILARITIES AT ALL.

SOME SIMILARTIES IN EQUIPMENT DOES NOT MAKE IT A HISTORICAL FICTION. EVERY FICTION HAS THESE SIMILARITIES.

THIS IS A GOOD THING.

LOTR HAS AS MANY SIMILARITIES AS M&B. M&B HAS NO MORE SIMILARITIES THAN LOTR. NOT EVEN A SINGLE SIMILARITY MORE. Fictional map, fictional factions, fictional characters, fictional everything, except equipment.

All the top games, movies, books are fictions, and its a good thing M&B is one of them.

You guys spamming this is a historical fiction couldnt have a weaker argument. Its literally impossible to have a weaker argument. Unless you consider LOTR and basically every other game/movie/book using the exact same equipement and faction types are considered historical fiction, like Conan and the rest. By the way Conan has the exact same equipment and faction except the map is way more accurate than M&B. Did I mention LOTR and other titles have these similarities also?

I dare anyone to make a fool of themselves and call this a historical fiction again.

As it stands M&B can go anywhere it wants with its story and DLC, deal with it.

Maybe M&B 3 will be a historical fiction? Maybe they add magic or new factions or aliens? I dont know.

A little info, Conan is based on earth but prehistoric. Before recorded history. A time before the mediterranean was flooded, if there ever was such a time. Its an unlikely theory that many fictions of all sorts have used, even sci-fi.

So they added all the factions and chain mail armor and everything they wanted. Including magic and dinosaurs and anything else they felt like.

LOTR on the other hand has no basis in reality, although there are some similarities. It is supposed that it is prehistoric if there is any basis in reality and not entirely fictional. Could be on another planet, could be anywhere, could even be the future. Although it is suggested that it is in fact prehistoric.

The Sword of Shannara series is based in the far future. Completely medieval society but with ruins of high rises and modern cities.

Krull another medieval fictional society with plate armor and such is based on another planet, and the villain is a giant fortress space ship that lands and tries to kidnap the princess and war the heros.

Countless fictions in literature and movies and games.

Maybe M&B is prehistoric to? Maybe its on a different planet? Both have been done many times in fiction and had medieval societies. By the way I have read hundreds of books real life, fiction and none fiction. Mostly fiction though. :)

While ancient Egypt may or may not be a good idea for this game, it does work, even for science fiction. Mostly because ancient Egypt is prehistoric for the most part and anything is possible.

Long winded reply but one more fact. Historians can reach back max 5000 years, max and they know next to nothing about those times. The oldest recorded sign of human civilization dates back less then 10,000 years ago and they debate its even that old. Anything more than this is all guess work and theory, both of which can change and will change.

Ok one more last thing. :) Yes its almost for sure there are other habitable planets out there somewhere. Also almost for sure life out there. Anything else is possible.
The weapons, the heraldry, the styling, the hierarchal order all of those count as similarities but okay.

your argument is invalid anyway "Egypt" already exists in M&B its called the Sassanids
Yes let's add the Egyptians in a game based off of the late Western Roman Empire.

Well its 2017, where anything goes - also you're 'intolerant' if you give any resistance to this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
We also have to add ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and gays because its some new law where they have to be retconned into everything a human has touched upon through the ages.
Enjoy the game

I think most people are fine with all "alternative lifestyles" being represented. I sure am. But I strongly believe they should be represented in a way that is proprtionate to real life. So we should be seeing LGBTQWTFAIPXXXBBQ characters only 1% of the time and no more - as is true in real life. Probably less than 1%.

And they shouldn't be being forced in to dark ages/medieval games like M&B because they just weren't around back then. Not out in the open anyway. Maybe very small communities, in the shadows, because they would've been hanged or burnt at the stake for practicing those lifestyles openly.
this would be insanely cool
