Sound files not playing properly and causing crash

was getting kicked off 5-20 min into my games, game launches fine but sound constantly stutters even on the starter screen, once in a game i get a crash randomly between 5-20 min.

Error code PQSFX says theres problems in playing the sound files basically.

Checked them in windows media player which cannot play some of them or does the same stutter play freezing every 2 seconds for half a second, some files play fine. All the files show up as either WAV or MP3 in the sound folder on checking.

Playing on 16 gig of ram windows 7, all my drivers ect are up to date using a 780 gtx, have reinstalled the game 3 times, verified intergrity on steam and tried from 100-1400 planet scenarios, the problem seems to be the sound files themselves.

Anyone got an idea wtf is going on with broken sound files stopping me playing 0.o?

That seems to be an error in your audio device. Could you please post a full DxDiag report?

How to get a Directx Dialog file:

1. click on "START" (on Windows 8 Press "Windows Key" + "R" and jump to step 3)
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. open the text file, copy the contents, and post along with your issue.

Probably Realtek will have newer audio drives on their site, but I would try with the ones that you can find in the Asus product page for you MB.

It still might not fix your issue, as your issue might be related with any broken audio codec/filter installed in your Windows. Still it's worthy try.

I think Von Paulus is right - there's probably an issue with your sound driver.

Regardless, we'll put a fix in the next update that should work around this issue if it happens again.

the link that von gave me seemed to sort it out, now i just feel like an idiot. Odd that it hadnt happend before on any other game iv played but hey ./shrug.
