seriously, every post i see from you is a) completely out of content and b) just plain immature or outright re.tarded.
most, if not all, the critiques i read from you are just a simple case of simple minded person sitting infront of the computer, doesn't understand a game, doesn't get any handholding from it, too lazy to read manual and cries on forum cause game is "crap" because he sucks at it. just laughable.
energy collectors ...well they collect energy x'D
you can find plentiful description in the component / module description in the game, you just have to open it up. it is also very detailed described in the manual. only straw i can give you is that there aren't give explicit values cause it depends on the strength (type) of the sun and the distance of your ship / base from that sun. so put up some more energy collecters and its fine. many people say that for busy ships you don't even really need them.
before posting anything insulting again you might wanna check your behavior and think (and read the freaking manual) before coming to the steam forum and behave like a complete idiot. it just makes you like stupid. but hey, maybe thats how you want to be perceived.
Xerberus86 is a kid who likes to draw attention by insulting other. I never feed trolls like this kid. That's why i always ignore these pathetic attempts to draw attention. I have reported him for personal insults.
For everyone else i would repeat my question. Why tech tree or manual or galactopedia has no exact description of what techs do? For instance in other games i can point on tech and see short description of what tech does but not here. Or at least manual has description in other games.
As i said there is nowhere in distant worlds (manual, galactopedia) you can find description of what energy collection and many other techs do except where to put it.Why should we players guess what tech does? I think it's totally unacceptable.
And it's in the tech description...
Go to ship design, click on the EC and in the bottom left there is a description.
Go to research screen, click on the tech the same description window is displayed.
Could you confirm once you've found it please?
You say "Go to research screen, click on the tech the same description window is displayed." Here link to 2 screenprints of techs in research screen: http://imgur.com/KVdxDvN

As everyone can see there is no description at all. So why are you lying by saying i quote you "Go to research screen, click on the tech the same description window is displayed."? So instead of description players must guess what countermesuares do? What do this tech counter, rebels, bad tax system, bad weather, enemy spies, STD? It's ridiculous that players must guess instead of short description of tech like in other strategy games.
Ok, can you check in the galactopedia, under components?
I'd check myself but I'm at work... This is bugging me now cos I remember reading the description in-game...
You are being rather immature
and in the process you will be missing out on a great game
If you are having trouble understanding something most players here and on the Matrix forums will help
Personally I agree that the tech descriptions could be improved
but I am not going to rage-quit the game for that reason
Re-consider?
All you need is just a name of the component that research node unlocks and that item names are provided in there. Then you just go to the galactopedia if you need more information about that module/facility...
Maybe one day one of the modders will create a mod to improve it.
There are some good mods that improve the Civilopedia and tech descriptions in CivV.
These things will mean very little to experienced players, but can be helpful to players endeavouring to scale the almost vertical learning cliff the game present to new players.
I have looked around a couple of hours now, searching for a specific explanation as to what energy collectors actually do. "Collect energy" some of you say, as if that's a reply that explains anything. You should not have to do that in a complex game such as this - it should immediately state "energy collection is a starship module" and (or at least) provide a Galaxopedia link to the module.
Right now the Galaxopedia link (F1) brings you to the same explanation as is in the manual. An explanation that explains next to nothing about what the various techs actually do.
It's unfortunate when you find an explanation in the midst of people insulting an honest question.
I'm otherwise looking forward to playing this game that I've had my eyes on for a long time.
Its the fourth post in this thread. You should check out the Matrix forum for more helpful replies if Steam is not doing it for you but to be honest, OP has been trolling these forums for a while so he's likely just being ignored. If you have any questions, a polite (hell even a flat) request will garner helpful replies, thats been my experience so far anyway and I'm not wanting for any information on the game... some people just dont know how to be civil and wonder why people are 'off' with them...
Guess I'm just jumping in the middle of a fire :) - nevermind!
