How to invade a planet?
Hey guys, so i made a fleet + 4 loaded toops ships (13k troops)
I found a pirate base, it in early construction stage and they dont have
any other bases, so i want to eliminate them.
I ordered my fleet to attack the planet, they came to the plant and just floating there...
both the battle ships and the troops ships, they do nothing.

Also i found a specific race that i want to try and inslave (not an independant colony),
i guess the same question applies here, how do i lend troops?
* The troops ship got boarding equipment on them.
* My weapons are powerful beam weapons mixed with torpedoes.

If you mean a pirate base in space, you simply need to blow it up with military ships.

If you mean you want to invade somebody else's colony, you need those troop carriers. Select the fleet that has the troop carriers, and then simply do an attack order on the planet. The troop carriers will then drop off their troop. You can also select each troop carrier and give them attack orders 1 by 1.

Selecting a few troop carriers who are not in the same fleet won't work. You then cannot give the attack order. They must be in the same fleet, or you need to select them individually and give them attack orders 1 by 1.

Once your troops are invading the planet, you can select the planet and then click on the soldiers in the bottom left to see the progress. There you can see if you are winning or losing.

clicked on the planet, but nothing happaned... they just stood there, in space...

one question, did you even buy this game? there is no symbol next to your name that signifies that you own it.

You sure you have troops loaded? When i first attempted an invasion, i quickly realized you need around 10 troop compartments(early tech) to get 4 units loaded up and if you are using the auto mechanic for loading troops, sometimes the ship will only load one troop or even none at all depending on what the settings are.

In the fleet screen it says that they got 13k troops on them.
and to Xerberus86, i got the game from the official site, i tend to not stockpile
too many games on my steam account due to security reasons.

You said a pirate base in early construction. Do you mean there's a pirate base on one of your own planets?

If so, you need to select the planet, then in the bottom left double click on the planet name to go to the Colonies overview screen. In there, go to Facilities, click on the pirate base and then click on the attack button. A fight will then begin on the planet. Try to load up at least 100k troops before initiating the attack. If you lose, drop off more troops on the planet before trying another attack on the pirates.

Ammm well the planet is not mine, there is an independent colony on it though.
The colony is from the same race as the one i play, but its not mine.
And the pirate base is under construction, maybe that is why i cant invade?
like maybe i have to go to war with this independent race first?

Is this race really independent? This is indicated by a grey circle and name, and I think the planet's ownership is called "Independent". You should be able to invade these just fine, but your reputation might take a hit.

If the planet is owned by another empire, you have to declare war to them first. In this case, the planet as well as the system will have the color of the owning empire and the planets information will contain the empire ownership and it's flag.

Hmm, so if I understand correctly you found an independent world with a hidden pirate base facility being constructed on it, but when you right click on the planet your troop ships stay where they are?

13K sounds like a bit low of a troop strength for 4 loaded troop transports...

Just to cover all our bases... the design for your troop ships are all of the "troop transport" type and you ordered them to load troops on a planet with available troops first, correct?

Also, it sounded like from your original post like you might be confusing troop strength with boarding strength... if you select your transport fleet it should tell you both the troop strength and the boarding party strength. It's the troops you need to invade a planet, not marines.

The planet got grey circle around it, but it located in a sector that belongs
to a specific race (no colony in it, just a single mining station of that race).
The colony is independant, its incectoid race colony, in a rodent race shpere of influance.
Maybe i have to first declare war on the rodents?

Hm, never tried to invade an independent in another empire's space. I'm not sure that's possible :/ Declaring war may do the trick.

Also, like Sepiche asked, you do have troop compartments on your ships and not assault pods, right?

My troop ships are low tec, im in early game... that is why its only 13k.
(every ship got only 4 boarding devices).

and yes, independant colony, pirate base in mid construction, inside an alien race
sphere of influence (they telling me to take away my ships when im near the planet).
4 troops ships, 2nd fleet, right click do nothing..

Assault pods are for taking over ships and bases. You need troop compartments and load troops from planets into these to invade planets.

If you still don't have luck you might try selecting your troop ship fleet, taking a screenshot, and posting it here. That might let us get a better idea of what might be going on.
