Why choose Corporate Nationalism over Monarchy?
I started a game as Human and notice their special government Corporate Nationalism is inferior to Monarchy. Maybe I miss something but it there ever a reason to choose CN over Monarchy?

each goverment has it +,-. depending on how you play, roleplay(yes some do) it is "better" for some strategies, playstyles.
republic is even "better". depends on how you want to paly though.

Thanks. I was just looking at the +/- statics didn't realize it had a special ability.

The unfortunate side effect is that new players pick Humans expecting them to be the average sort of race, suitable for learning the game. Can lead to grave misunderstandings about the nature of the game and economy.

Can't you let the AI handle the ship building?
Or is it just working with your own ones?

Yes, you can let the AI handle it.

I just tried it. The way it works is that you get the income produced by the private sector.

I didn't see an option to manually build private sector ships, nor does the Galactopedia mention such a thing.

The Galactopedia says that you are basically stealing money from the private sector. And so, it will hurt the private sector's development somehow. I haven't noticed that yet.

I did notice, though, that the research goes extremely slowly early on in the game. I'm thinking that this government type is not very good for the early game.

But one thing I keep thinking about is how powerful this government type potentially could be later on in the game when the private sector is making heaps of money.

Hm, you're right about not being able to order civilian ships. Somehow corporate nationalism and pirate gameplay fused in my mind :P

That having been said, I think corporate nationalism is very strong for early game. You have a 10% malus to research and slightly less reproduction, BUT, presumably you can simulataneously tax the population at 0% and get their income. Humans have a bonus to research anyway, and you would use the money to initiate lots of crash research.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I don't understand how the private sector can pay for mining stations.
