Alliance Set in Diplomacy
So I am playing the Star Trek Picard Era 2.0 Mod and have me (Federation) allied with the Ferengi, Andorians, and Bajoran the other alliances are the Borg and Dominion, then the Romulans plus two factions of Kazon. So I set up alliance Mine as the UFP, Borgs as Alliance of Evil, and Romulans as Romulan Power Pact. But, I keep defaulting to Alliance of Evil why is this? I have tried resetting it multiple times, any ideas?

I don't play that mod, but the way to get it to work in the vanilla game:

First, you must have a mutual defense pact with another empire.

Then in the diplomacy window, double click that empire in the list and you'll get a box to type in an alliance name. Do that for the other empire and you'll see the name change for your empire as well.

Repeat with other empires you have a mutual defense pact with.

Double clicking yourself in the diplomacy window will get that alliance name window to popup, but it won't change anything. This is because this system is so you can have different names for your different relationships with other empires. You could have a mutual defense pact with 2 empires but they may not have that agreement with eachother.

Well as I said I am trying to set the alliance of the bad guys and the neutrals as well, that way it is easier to remember (you can set the alliance even if your at war with another alliance) so like me and the Borg are at war so I want them to be apart of the alliance of Evil but it keeps making me AoE or RPP not UFP idk why

Setup your alliance last. Whatever alliance name you set I think the game will also make you a part of it.

tried that as well, for some reason it always wants to set up me as anything but UFP..... As soon as war breaks out it removes the alliance designations and sets me as UFP lol idk guess its just a feature that wasnt really planned to be used all that much

I suppose. I've noticed it even changes based on what empire you have highlighted in the diplomacy window. There are a lot of optional things in the game that may not get used much but are there to help the player if they want to use it.

Like I don't have to name my fleets using a complicated naming hierarchy but at least the game gives me the ability to and it helps me keep my 80 fleets organized.

I just like the game's philosophy towards automation and convenience. You don't have to do it but you have the ability to do if you wish.

ya I love this game dont get me wrong, just hope that this will be looked at by a dev and perhaps addressed in a patch at some points. If not the game is still worth every penny I spent lol
