Hyper Drive not working?

Very new to the game, don't let the hour fool you, I haven't played in over a year and never really "got" it last time. Really want to try again now.

So the issue is that I have auto retrofits for ships and have already researched hyper drives. I have ships zipping all over several systems, I just built three colony ships to grab two nice planets and an independent colony. However, all the colony ships show a (no hyperdrive) in their speed, but when I review their design, they have the same hyper drive as all the other ships...

Can someone smarter than me please point out what I bet is an obvious thing that I am missing?

Hyperdrive needs enough power to operate.
Add another power generator to the design and see how it affects hyperdrive speed (on the right in design screen).
Also check fuel.

It is possible that the AI (if you left the designs as they were) has built the very first design for Colony ship, which may not have a hyper drive, and is for colonizinig in the starting system. This could've happened if you clicked on building them before the research on hyper drives was complete. You can try retrofitting them now.
Also I would suggest designing the ships manually, you can make them more efficient that way.

ZumZoom raises a good point - maybe the colony ships are original non-hyperdrive designs.
You can check by clicking on the ship, then if you mouse-over the ship details, you can inspect its design.

It ended up being both. One of the ships was the old design and the second didn't have the power after auto updating. I am manually updating ships now and they work fine. Thanks all.
