The improvement to the font is a minor one, but I guess it's better than nothing.
I had an accident with my eyes a short time ago and cannot bear any blur. The worst thing is I can play the game, only the tutorial font makes my brain tilt... Sadly it's far too complex to learn by try and retry....
Many people suggest DasTactic's vids: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImB1MBJeGLo&list=PLGB6RkFB7ZmNxjw-XsdpbmTfYStObtNFc
I personally learned mostly by following the guides https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=263885042

Though probably would've been easier with the video tutorials. :)
The only downside is the old engine that isn't quite stable with the largest maps and long campaigns, but with the DW2 coming later this year perhaps we will have a greatly improved version of the game. Something to look forward to. :)
This game is a real gem and playing it mostly manual vice automatic makes it feel like you are really commanding an empire. Those videos listed above, and the full manual link are very good to watch/read.
Desert planets and sand slugs - I didn't know this, which shows just how much thought the programmer put into this game. Lucky for us, the same guy is programming the sequel (coming out this summer).
Thank you very much !
