[SPOILER] I don't understand the story AT ALL
Everything is so confusing.
What is it even about?

It's 2011 but apparently there's this cyber lifeform, which is just human consciousness (not AI?) in form of data without body (?), which is apparently superior to normal humans, doing dangerous stuff and stealing jobs from human? and there's this TT organization, which is apparently... the government body that regulates cyber stuff(?)

I enjoyed all the mini-story with side-character's jobs, but the grand plot with Nil, Pi, Li, Carl, TT is really confusing. and I don't get Miki and mom's involvement in all this.

What's the difference between the 3 endings anyway? they all feel totally same with same outcome. Miki still got fired and became a mid architect, all character epilogues are the same. I don't understand.

can someone explain... everything?
thanks

I have to say this is an issue with the story arrangement by the creators. Because some Chinese players didn’t fully understand what the game is trying to convey, the story has received mixed reviews.

To put it simply:

TT is mainly enslaving these Cyber lifeforms.
Nil, Pi, Li, and Carl are teammates from the same organization, responsible for fighting against TT.

In Tico, there was a post that mentioned one of Nil and their teammates jumped off a building after failing to fight against TT. Later, Pi was also attacked by TT and died. Nil and the others turned her consciousness into a Cyber lifeform and mass-produced it.

In EP-8, after Pi became a Cyber lifeform, she was trapped inside the professor's printer and couldn’t leave.

It was also mentioned that Miki has a disease and needs controlled medication, and her mother is a doctor who trades with other Cyber lifeforms and is being threatened.

> In the "Reach the New Journey Ending," the TT servers were successfully destroyed, all the criminals within the TT organization were imprisoned, and the TT organization was dissolved. Cyber lifeforms and humans learned to live in peace.

> In the "Reach the Rain Ending," Miki never saw Nil and the others again, and the other Cyber lifeforms also disappeared (it seems Nil and the others failed).

>In the "Reach the Magician Ending," Carl betrays and decides to collaborate with the Cyber lifeforms and the TT organization, establishing a new order where the Cyber lifeforms take control of the digital world.

Ok
How come we met Nil, Pi and Carl as a human when they're already cyber lifeform? they can just become a human whenever?
and Miki met the opposite sex version of Miki at the fireworks if didn't choose to meet anyone. what's with that?

No.

Nil, Pi, and Carl are humans. They are fighting for the rights of Cyber lifeforms and hoping that Cyber lifeforms can coexist peacefully with humans.

In EP9, Nil mentioned the news of Pi's death, explaining that before she passed away, Pi uploaded her consciousness into the program "S4U" and became a Cyber lifeform.

In EP8, after talking to Carl, we learn that he is Miki's high school classmate. So, to summarize, aside from Pi, the others are still humans.

As for the fireworks festival question, the developers clearly didn't intend to expand on the storyline. Like I mentioned before, Miki met the opposite sex version only briefly here, and there's no further mention of them in other parts of the game.

It's just a small subplot, kind of like the concept of, "Hey, there's someone in this world who looks just like me."

Aside from the main storyline setting, the game reflects more of the issues present in modern Chinese society, such as Miki initially wanting to become an architect, but due to changes in the social environment, the architecture industry gradually declined, and the rise of AI caused some people to lose their jobs, etc.

The game also includes many terms created by the developers themselves, and since most of the dialogue options contain questions with Chinese memes, this creates a certain difficulty in English localization, making it harder for Western players to understand.
I just don't get it why Pi has to be killed for the plot.
Although in other cyberpunk - themed games, killing and even explosions are very common, it is highly inappropriate to force - feed a plot about assassination without sufficient foreshadowing (such as rumors of TT hiring killers). If TT were a ruthless and despicable tech giant that uses cruel and underhanded means, it shouldn't be Miki, a young person who has only been working for three years, who goes up against TT. With TT's influence, wouldn't it be easy for them to hire high - level hackers to investigate Miki and others and then carry out a precise assassination? So this part of the plot is really out of place.
After all, cyber lifeforms are not living humans or physical organisms. So it's somewhat reasonable for TT to arbitrarily manipulate and intimidate cyber lifeforms by virtue of its technological superiority. However, the setting that TT has so much power that it can arbitrarily manipulate human citizens is too exaggerated and does not conform to the overall tone of the game.
It would be much more reasonable to change the plot so that Pi's address is leaked, she is illegally detained by bad guys, and only the cyber lifeform Pi can move around at this time. Then Pi can ask Miki for help. Later, the cyber lifeform organization successfully confronts TT and takes over the network, and the human Pi is released. At the end, they can meet downstairs of Miki's place, which should give a much better gaming experience.

By the way, other people reacts way too much peaceful and calm to Human Pi's death, even cyber life form Pi seems to be not very shocked after knowing her human body is no longer in existence.
