Episode 4 David Boss Button Mash

I can fight the boss just fine untill I knock him down to his last bit of health then we do this weapon clash and I have to mash the LMB. I have tried this so many times but I can't seem to do it. I keep failing it and he then does damage to me then I repeat untill I'm dead. How did you guys get through the button mashing part?

I have been playing this game in my laptop. So I use my wireless mouse and mouse pad together.

Did you set the FPS limit to 60? Because that will make button mashing prompts twice as hard. Revert to 30 FPS to fix it.

no I haven't messed with the FPS but i like the idea of using the mouse pad and mouse together so I'm gonna try that :D thanks for the help guys.

maybe you could try to remap your key for this part.

parts like this are obvious that this was developed with gamepad/console in mind and not with kb/m

Lol I'm not able to remap the keys, but I just tried to do it with two people, one on the mouse pad and one on the mouse and we still can't do it lol. The FPS is still at normal on 30fps

If it's just an issue with you not mashing fast enough, then try putting both your index fingers on the button and alternating pressing with both. You can press it alot faster like that then with one finger.

HI, i have the same problem as you, and it is quite annoying, then i found the solution, it seems it is your fps problem, the button mash will be a lot harder if the fram rate drop below 24, try to lower the settings.

I was stuck on that for about 2 hours, mostly since I wanted to do some other stuff than fight David. What I did was use both hands, when one hand got to tired of clicking I used the other. I used 3 mika tokens, but was able to do it. This most likely wont help you, but I'm just recommending something that may help.

LOL ok so i finally managed to do it by lower my graphics. Don't know why it work but thanks for your help guys.

There's a special place in you know where for the designers of this boss fight, and I'm using a controller. Took ~30 minutes to beat the first button mash then I find out there's another one... Any other tips?

Thanks for this information, I can't stand button mash x insanity to win. This is coming off my wishlist (which was on shaky ground anyway since it doesn't seem they address problems- the dual core prob, which won't affect me but, what if I had a different prob, I'd like to know they'd be willing to fix it, guess I'll get something else).

The sad thing is the game is amazing otherwise (IMO)--a real aesthetic triumph. Some cheating may be in order...

What I did was just use my index finger to mash the X button, so I held the controller solely with my left hand while mashing the X button with my right, after a few tries I nailed it. In my experience it helps to not look at the screen while you do it, just keep mashing like crazy and pray for the best.

this is a really late reply but I feel it's necessary I stress this is the only thing that worked. I have a steam controller, so I booted big picture and bound a turbo toggle for X to the back paddle. mashing X and the mouse button didn't help because of the wireless controller delay. If you have macros for your hardware that will do it, idk why no other way worked for me even at 30 max fps.
