FPS and QTE FIX *25.5.2014*
1. Go to the installation folder
2. Go into KidGame\Config
3. Open KidEngine.ini
4. Change MaxSmoothedFrameRate to the frame rate cap you want (60 or 120).
5. Save your changes and close the file.

***Open DefaultGame.ini and update the QTE timers***

*If you set a 60 FPS cap:

Change :mRevive_MassageRecoveryRate to 2.6
Change :mRevive_MassageHealtDownRate to 0.98
Change :mRevive_MassageDownPowerMax to 10.0

*If you set a 120+ FPS cap:

Change :mRevive_MassageRecoveryRate to 5.2
Change :mRevive_MassageHealtDownRate to 0.96
Change :mRevive_MassageDownPowerMax to 20.0
Save your changes and close the file.

*The game will now run at your chosen frame rate with correct QTE timing.

Thats it. You should now be fine playing the game!

Does this fix every QTE in the game or just reviving QTE?

This is nothing final. Many bosses are broken because (Example Alice : Does twice the damage for some reason with 60 fps or the first form of the Samurai fight, if he punches you, you fly across the arena) of the FPS unlock, some QTE's still need to be fixed.

Yeah guys, I probablly named the thread little bit wrong, but at least some of you who didin't knew about QTE fix will now know about it. Raider I totally understand you, I don't know what is the point of releasing the games with 30FPS, esp. the H&S one's... In 21'st century 30FPS, cmon, I played NFS 1996 with more FPS than that... PS. I'm gonna test few more settings out and research little bit more, so if I find something out I'll update the thread or make a new one.

Not really since the FPS unlock breaks the game due to many things being tied to frames like damage amounts and boss QTEs. My guess is that they never considered it would be run at 60 FPS when programming it. So this is a moot point unless someone figures out how to fix all the issues or the devs release a patch.

What's really weird is that the frame issue is happening with Dark Souls II which WAS planned for PC from the beginning and only runs at 60 FPS.

How's this game running for people on Quad Cores? I'm on Dual Core i5 3.20ghz and game was running fine at the 30fps cap, which I could deal with, since 30fps was still playable.. But I got to Episode 7 in the game and FPS drops seem alot more frequent to the point it does kind of hinder the experience... And I got a runtime error right before the boss in Episode 7 :-\

I have a Quad Core intel i5 3.3 ghz - I never got any slowdown during battles, or any crashes, though there were a few frame drops during cutscenes.

I played the same level again without fraps on, and it did seem better.. It seemed more on par with the performance I was getting before Episode 7.. Before then I'd get constant 30fps during battle, and 2-3 occasions during a level that it would drop to around 28fps.. So it was smooth to me cus at least I was getting solid 30fps more or less.. But it only seemed to drop for a few seconds when I was randomly running around but not when I'm fighting or anything

Don't know why it was dropping so much more on that level before though, as I had fraps running all the other times I ran this game, so I could monitor FPS, I'm also unsure if the runtime error for my visual c packages is a personal problem with my files, or it's a problem with the actual game itself

Anyway I'm glad it was running smooth again, but I couldn't even beat that boss anyway because he was hard as ♥♥♥♥!! Never heard of Killer is Dead until this steam release, loving it so far and hopefully I'll be able to complete the game with my dual core :3

I had no problem running this game. You could validate the steam files, and check if you updated the video drivers. Who knows maybe it fix's your problem :) Either way, enjoy the game guys.
