Fixing the crash in the 1st real mission

A plurality of the users here seem to be experiencing an issue where the game crashes at level 2 (the level right after the one that you play through as soon as the game starts). Based on anecdotes here, the crash happens exactly after you kill 3 waves of enemies -- immediately after a cutscene is triggered.

For better or worse, there is already a fix available. Please follow the instructions below:

Edit KidEngine.ini

1. Navigate the game's local files on Steam and open <path-to-game>\KidGame\Config\KidEngine.ini

2. Replace the [XAudio2.XAudio2Device] section with the following:

[XAudio2.XAudio2Device]
MaxChannels=64
CommonAudioPoolSize=320
MinCompressedDurationGame=0.3
MinCompressedDurationEditor=500
LowPassFilterResonance=0.9
WorkAroundXDKRegression=FALSE

I have tried to use this detail, but it has not worked. The error I get every time the introductory screens of the accredited software finish is this:
